i've stayed here 3 times, i keep coming back after my first visit! i come to new york often and it's hard to find a nice hotel in a good location with a price that won't break the bank, and the park central new york is perfect. its location is phenomenal - right across from carnegie hall! & there are some great restaurants in the area as well. plus the consierge was wonderful - they helped get tickets to shows, had great advice, and were super friendly! if only the rest of the city was as nice!

Great location and value. Times Square, 5th Ave. and Moma are close by. Room was comfortable and clean. Would recommend to anyone and will go back.

Pros: Very clean and comfortable

Cons: water pressure not as high as I am use to.

Stayed at Park Central from 11-17 to 11-24. What a great location! Close to Central Park and Times Square. Also, the Macy's parade travels along Broadway which is just the next street over. We had a great location to watch the parade and it was close to our hotel so we didn't have to get up early and "reserve" a spot. Park Central was reasonably priced and the room was large for a NY hotel. We did not encounter any real problems. It's true that the elevators do run slow, but it's not that bad and there is a sign letting you know and apologizing. The only things I can think of that were minor issues were the shower "shrieked" for about 40 seconds when turned on before finally stopping so you could shower in peace, we would get a different variety of towels from day to day (sometimes no washclothes, sometimes no large towels but that was taken care of when housekeeping was called) and the drinks in the bar were pricey. Other than that we found our stay at Park Central pleasant and would stay there again.

Pros: Great location!! Rooms larger than where we stayed before.

Cons: Nothing major

This was such a horrible hotel - the only good thing about it was the location. When we arrived they would not let us check in untill 4pm and then they only had smoking rooms available to my group even though we made reservations months in advance and NONE of us smoked. The rooms were dirty (black floor boards with dust and dirt) the walls were paper thin and you could practically hear peoples conversations on the street (If youve never been to New York, its a very noisy city and especially at night in this loaction- it was impossible to sleep!) My ironing board broke they wouldnt replace it - one of the other girls safe was not working they couldnt not help in that either. I was there for 3 noghts they never made our beds or sometimes would just not even replace the towels, and we knew they had been in the room because the trash was empty and toilet paper refolded! they had no trash can in the lobby (to discourage people from walking in off the street to throw away things, but I never saw a lack of trash bins on the street so I dont know why they felt the need to do this) they were very rude and kept asking when our bus was coming to get us after we checked out and were waitingin the lobby, and you need a card key to use the resroom in the lobby, we were screwed after we checked out and before we checked in (because they wouldnt let us check in untill 4) and they simply didnt care.

Pros: location

Cons: everything else was terrible

The location for the Park Central can't be beat. It is convienent to Times Square and shopping on Fifth Avenue, and a subway stops right at the corner. My room was large and featured a flat screen TV. However, the bathroom was vey dark and sort of small. For the most part the staff was helpful. The person in the gift shop had a pretty surly attitude and I didn't really like the restuarant or bar service. But realistically, for the price this hotel is quite good, and I would very much recommend it.

Pros: location, flat screen tv, nice room

Cons: restaurant service, bar service

I stayed in this hotel last summer. I was booked into another hotel and wasn't pleased upon arrival and went hunting for other accommodations. This hotel had availability and took us righ taway. There was a bit of a wait in line, but we were happy to be in a safe area. The locations was fantastic, I was with a student of mine that had never been to NY, so she was very impressed with being able to walk pretty much everywhere. Overall, this hotel was very nice and would reccommed totohers.

Pros: location, lobby very large

Cons: slow service

lobby was nice. Thebar was pleasantand staff friendly and helpful. check in - there were 22 ahead of me with only 2 people at the front desk and not in a hurry. After getting off the elevator noticed walls are in desperate need of a paint. There were serious marks and gouges on the walls and doorways. Molding actually had chunks of wood missing. Room faired better but too much furniture for the room. King bed, large amoire and desk too much You could barely walk around. Bathroom required you to move around the door before you could get in comfortably. No thermostat, went from cold to warm with no way to adjust. Bed uncomfortable and on metal platform that caused stubbed toes. A large room was probably Manhattan club other half of hotel -- gutted and expanded.

Pros: nice bar and lobby

Cons: needs a facelift

Have stayed here over a dozen times. Not as clean as before 9/11 and their American Airlines contract, but the front desk and housekeeping staff have always been friendly and responsive. Concierge service is contracted out and not so good...

Pros: location, staff friendliness, reasonably priced

Cons: fighting for cabs

Great location near Central Park and just about everything else, but for the price, not worth it. The service was slow, the front desk incomprehensible, and basically quite a logistic mess. The only convenience? Checking out - sign your name, leave your keys, and you're outta there.
