I was given a $100 gift certificate for my birthday. I chose the spa pampering package (body scrub, massage, facial, and lunch). I reserved the appointment with my credit card but informed the receptionist that I would be paying for my package with the gift certificate and cash. Without taxes and tips, this package cost $269. I was very excited about going to this spa. The two women who gave me the facial and body treatments were excellent, very professional, and friendly. The only sore point was when I was about to take off my robe to receive my facial. This older women (who was at the front desk) entered the room and she asked me if I was going to pay the difference between the gift certificate amount and the price of the package. I was insulted. Of course I was going to pay the difference; I can count. Did she actually think that I thought a $100 gift certificate would be enough to cover the cost of this package? What kind of question was that? Although I enjoyed the spa package; I won't be returning to that spa.
Pros: Ambience, employees giving the facials, massage, etc.
Cons: Lacking customer service skills

A bunch of us girls booked the place based on citysearch reviews. It was much smaller than we expected. They do not have enough rooms for us, and we were ushered from one room to another like cattles. One of the rooms were divided using screens which you can see through between the panels. No privacy at all!!! The floors were not cleaned between clients and there's only one small shower which lacks pressure (they called that steam shower). The food was prepared in the hallway and we were served in the reception area. To top it all, our gifts were cheap samples of nivia/olay moisturizers/body wash. One would expect, something a little more for the price they charge. Quite disappointed.
Pros: Relatively polite staff
Cons: Too expensive for what they offered.

Being very glad that they were able to book me last minute, I had a facial with Fay last weekend, who is an absolute genius in skincare. Everybody here is friendly and chatty. The receptionist, a young Russian girl was very pleasant to have “girl talk” with and had recommended me an array of places to visit during my stay in NYC (I’m from VA). She personally suggested I try eyebrows threading for the first time with another worker, Ester; which is now on my agenda of things to do next time I visit NYC. Thank you!
Pros: the facial and the pleasantness

I went there for a getaway with my boyfriend for our anniversary. The place is small, but accommodating. The staff is relatively friendly. We weren't rushed and enjoyed ourselves. The shower facilities are basic and was not cleaned in-between clients... old wash clothes/shower products were visible on the floor. We were served chocolates and they reuse the same plate without washing. The massage was good, pedicure was nice... but not 100% professional. Also, bring cash for the tip! You cannot add it to your cc.

Very professional staff. I've been here many times for a variety of services and I always leave happy. The only reason I don't give this spa 5 stars is that it's a bit too expensive for me, so I can't go as often as I'd like.
Pros: facials and waxing services are fabulous
Cons: prices a bit high for me

Last week I decided to treat myself at Faina European Spa after a girls night talking about beauty, health and relax. I booked an appointment for a body massage, facial, manicure and pedicure. Everything was so easy and well done from the moment I called until I left the spa. When I arrived I was welcomed by a friendly, kind and smiling staff. They made me feel immediately comfortable and happy about my choice. Every treatment was just what I was looking for. I did realize how professional all the therapists are at this cozy and elegant place. The long magnificent body massage, the perfect facial, manicure and pedicure... I felt a new person! I will be back for sure and I will bring with me my husband - they also have a good selection of couples packages, not even expensive, plus special offers all the time - who also noticed right away how satisfied I was about my decision to invest some money to renew myself :) I higly suggest Faina Spa absolutely to everybody!

This spa is very intimate and cozy! The atmosphere at Faina's is relaxing and comforted by the charming staff. My husband and I went here last Valentine's Day for one of their special packages for couples. The champagne rose scrub (which smelled excellent) and the body massage were done in the same room with lovely music and aromatherapy candles. Afterwards, we both received a clarifying facial and a manicure and pedicure. Than we were served champagne and chocolate in a private setting. I'd highly recommend this place for romantic getaways! In addition, I was pleased with their selection of skin products and picked out a wonderful anti-aging mask for myself. Very nice spa....perfect for relaxation!
Pros: skilled staff, intimate setting

I absolutely love this place! I have never been to a spa before so when I went to Faina's European Spa, I was a little bit nervous about what to expect. From the moment I rung the bell I was greeted with a cheerful hello. Aromatherapy candle scents filled the air and I relaxed a bit. The staff was really friendly and so inviting. My facialist guided me through the whole thing. She explained what she was going to do before she did it and afterwards she recommended some products to help improve my complexion. My visit to this spa ended way too soon! I cannot wait to book another appointment and go back for another visit! I highly recommend this spa to anyone looking to get away from the stress and the chaos of the noisy streets and crowded sidewalks of the city. Great for first timers looking to "ease" into the spa experience and excellent for couples who are looking for a quiet, cozy and relaxing evening together!
Pros: very friendly and highly professional staff

I have been to spas all over the world and thought I would give this one a try after the good reviews I read. Do not go to this spa! When I arrived my appointments had been erased from the book, with the receptionist claiming I had not confirmed, which I indeed had! Next, I was shuffled into a room where one of the staff told me she would be giving me my facial. She never introduced herself and spent the whole time telling me how I should use better more expensive products to clean my "delicate skin" rather than explaining the process and products she was using. My next treatment was a body scrub. The same staff person brought me to the new room which was merely divided from an adjoining room with a sliding partition. After my scrub, she showed me to the shower and proceeded to give me a hand towel to dry my whole body!!! Plus, I had no new robe and had to use the one covered in body scrub salt to make my way back to the treatment room for a back rub. The back rub was the best part, but only lasted 20 minutes. The absolute worst part of the experience was when it came time to pay. When I booked my treatments I specifically asked if I could use a spa wish gift certificate for payment during spa week. The person who booked my appointment said it would be no problem. Well I guess things change after they rope you in and offer you no choice in the matter. When it came time to pay the receptionist insisted they have a clear policy, on their website that they cannot accept gift certificates for specials. When I asked her to show me that on their website or any where in writing, she could not produce anything. When she called the manager I could hear the condescension on the other line. This was an absolutely terrible experience which left me more stressed than relaxed. DO NOT GO HERE.
Pros: Masseuse
Cons: Unfriendly, false advertisement, poor communication, overall stressful experience

I rarely splurge and "pamper" myself, so when I do I like the whole experience to be easy and satisfying. At Faina I felt very relaxed and well taken care of. All the employees were friendly, helpful, and patient even though I was obviously not a big spender or a frequent customer. My spa facial was luxurious and well worth the money (which wasn't even too bad for NYC).
Pros: customer service
