Oh, No Fifi!

I visited Fifi about a year ago, when I was looking to get some acrylic tips. I was trying to find a reputable place, and happened to find this on Citysearch. The location is great -- right on 57th St, and since I was going to MoMA afterwards, this was convenient.

The staff was friendly, and I carried on a great conversation with them. My pedicure was perfectly fine, no issues there. However, the acrylic tips that I got were HORRIBLE.

They broke off (the tips that they used are so thin that they should only be used with silk wraps or something reinforceable) and ripped my natural nails with them. Also, the filing/buffing job was done manually, and so terribly that you could see the ridge between my natural nail and where the tip began. Oh my -- horrible! I could have done a better job at home.

And the worst part was, rather than admitting up front that they couldn't do this to a professional level, they just carried on. Even when I went back after one nail broke (within an hour), they still did not offer me a refund.

I ended up going to a Korean place, where the lady looked at my nails in horror and then gave me real acrylic tips. :(

Overall, only recommendable for regular manis and pedis.

Excellent Salon FANTASTIC Staff!!!

I love Fifi Nail & Hair Salon! The owner is very kind and accomodating, the staff is very friendly and provides excellent service! I enjoy the privacy and professionalism and the salon is new and clean and very reasonable!
