Unpretentious formal-wear refuge in bustling midtown.

The Scene
Hidden on the top floor of a two-story midtown walk-up, Baldwin Formals may not look like much on the outside, but inside, a treasure chest of tuxedos and accessories awaits. The friendly, crackerjack staff are experts in outfitting anyone for that special occasion. Tuxes are available to rent or to buy.
The Goods
Classic tuxedos by Chatham & Essex (featuring center vents with flap pockets) are James Bond-chic and perfect for any traditional event. The sleek, stylish and reasonably priced contemporary collection includes selections from Perry Ellis, Christian Dior, Chaps, Ralph Lauren, Pierre Cardin, Oscar De La Renta, Fumagalli, Lord West and After Six. Stock items run from boys size 3 to mens 64 regular, 64 long and 56 extra long.

I have been there twice and both times the staff was very helpful and accomodating. It's not cheap, so you might just be better of buying one.
