Its not even summer yet, but today’s hot and humid weather I said enough is enough and looked for a pool to soak in this summer. Hello Gravity Fitness!… after searching around I got a deal – 3 months of rooftop pool access, 12 massages and 12 private training sessions for $1700. Most of the other places charged that for the pool alone. I can work on getting my own six-pack in the gym and show it off while tanning on the sundeck and then a massage before going out for the night! A saltwater pool, lounge chairs, you can even order room service all that’s missing is sand on the floor and a steel drum playing in the background, and I’d think I was back on vacation in Jamaica

Pros: No seagulls flying around

Cons: No sand or palm trees

My girlfriends and I have been members of both Equinox and LA Sports Club. We recently decided to join Gravity bc we heard about the Quickie workout from our friend who lost two dress sizes before her wedding. We tried it and we love it!!! At first we were a little sceptical, but after our thrid week we started seeing results and now we can't wait to layout on the sundecks at the rooftop pool. Gravity also has great spin instructors that really motivate you to work hard. Definitely take Maria's and Jennifer's classes. The gym is super clean and has great customer service.

Pros: double thumbs up/The Quickie/fun environment

Cons: too many hotties running around ;-)

I've been a member of gravity fitness, for a year, it is one of the cleanest gyms I've been to. The machines are great and you rarely have to wait for a machine. The instructors are very nice but are only average and don't look fit. I took an abs class and it was so easy. The gym isn't challenging, the music they play elevator music in the gym so there is no energy at all. you have to constantly motivate yourself because you can't look around, and be motivated. The Reebok Fitness, NYSC, Gold's Gym energy is definitely missing.

Pros: Very Clean, Great Equipment, Friendly Staff

Cons: No Steam Room , No Energy, Music Sucks

I recently joined the Quickie. The trainers are great and full of information and help. it's never really that crowded and it's not muscle head gym at all. I've been to almost every chain of gym in the city and Gravity far surpasses them. It feels more like a spa than a gym.

Pros: no crowds, helpful trainers, clean

I never worked out, no time or inclination, until a friend of mine who was a gravity member for years, told me about this 27 minute work out 2 or 3 times a week max. It really has worked! There is always a trainer on the floor who will both help, and push you to work harder. I actually look forward to going. The facilities are great, the staff is super friendly, and all the equipment (including the computer tracking system) are top notch. Ask for Wayne, he is a sincere and low pressure sales guy.

Pros: Great Value, Amazing Equipment, Friendly Staff

I have been a member of gravity before they received the press they now get. I feel like I choose a great place to workout, because of this!!! I love the gym and have been a member for six years. I love all the free towels and the trainers. They all know my name, The locker room is clean, but they don't have steam. Thats my one complaint.

Pros: Clean, Great design, Fitlinxx

Cons: , poor locker design, Pool

ive recently taken up a free one week membership and found the gym to rarely be packed with people, and have found my self never waiting for a machine, even during peak times. the lack of people make it a much nicer place to work out at. Tucked away in the basement of the parker meridien hotel, it is not well known in the neighborhood, especially being across from HRC. I would reccomend this gym.

Cons: no windows

Editor's Review

Some fancy hotels have a luxurious spa; Le Parker-Meridien has a deluxe gym.  See the full editorial review.
