Consistently good service and interesting frame selection. I would recommend for first-time users of contact lenses as well.

I recently moved to NY and needed to find an optometrist after getting a really bad eye infection, I also needed new glasses and contact lenses, so I started to do some research on Citysearch to help me find a place. The majority of the places I called were overpriced and basically just trying to squeeze money out of their customers by charging for an eye exam separately from a contact lens fitting and also requiring follow-up appointments due to the infection I thought I had. So after making several calls and hearing the exorbitant amount of money I would have to pay, I began to get really frustrated until I started reading about Westway. They had great reviews on Citysearch so I called to find out more information. Fran, the optician answered and was extremely sweet, caring and polite. Dr Tanzil, the optometrist was also really great. They also had affordable packages, I ended up paying $99 for an exam (both contact lens fitting and general exam) plus 2 boxes of contact lenses. I also got a free pair of lenses to wear for two weeks as a trial before placing an order. This was by far the most affordable place I had found with the nicest people. I went in the same day, got the exam, contacts and glasses all at the same place. Go to Westway you definitely won't regret it!!! I got some really cute leopard print frames too (not in a tacky way), so they also have great style for a great price!!

when you are in the store, the doctors here are patient, caring, and extremely thorough. i have had nothing but excellent service from them face to face, but getting a call returned was difficult when i first started going there and the outgoing message is atrocious which is what brings my review down two stars. I love especially how the in case of emergency number and alternative office name listed on the outgoing message are both completely indecipherable and have been that way since they opened. i can't find their office hours or days posted anywhere, they are certainly not mentioned as far as i can tell on aforementioned horrendous answering machine.so, this week i will be making an appt. with the old eye doctor who i don't like as much and isn't as convenient but at least i know when he's open and i can tell what his recording is saying.

Pros: attentive office staff when you see them in person

Cons: store hours not listed, emergency contact info. indecipherable

agree with all the reviews. the people who work here are extremely nice and helpful, always remember you and greet you warmly, and the doctor is very professional and thorough. They also have great deals, and a very well-edited selection of glasses. I highly recommend going here. by the way, they moved to tenth avenue between 51st and 52nd. the phone number is the same.

I've been a customer of this business for about ten years. I followed the optometrist there from a previous site. The entire staff is professional, courteous, and friendly. After you go there once, you are treated like an old friend. The customer always comes first here. Dr. Henry Tanzil , is a skilled, professional optometrist. I am a medical practitioner, and am very careful in selecting medical care for myself. Though I live over two miles away, I won't go anywhere else for my eye care needs. It is always a pleasure to visit Westway Vision. I can't compliment them enough.

Pros: Friendly, competent, professional service. The customer comes first at this establishment!

I went after reading the reviews here and having a few bad experiences. I received a thorough exam with the prices discussed up front. Warm, friendly staff & smart, quick Doctor. Prices most competitive I've seen. I highly recommend Westway.

I must second the previous review. I've never had such a positive experience in getting new eyeglasses. Professional, courteous, and efficient. No attempt to hard-sell you into buying all the expensive bells & whistles. Can't recommend them highly enough.

I have to recommend this neighborhood shop with all my conviction. The staff is welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable and never in a rush. You can try on 60 different frames, agonizing over which one to pick (it's that hard here - they have such a great selection) and they will never make you feel silly or like you're bothering them. And they'll give you excellent advice about which frames suit you best. Plus, when you go back? They'll remember your name and treat you like an old friend. Always a pleasure to go to Westway Vision.

Pros: A 100% fantastic place to get all your eyecare / eyewear needs attended to.

Cons: They close at 6PM during the week ... it would be nice if they were open a bit later.
