Great seafood and dessert place.

Went in one of the restaurant week with my friends.
After the Miso glazed Casco Bay cod the key lime pie was really great. One of the best sea food I had in Manhattan
- Pros: Excellent food. Excellent ambience.
Wonderful!

The staff at Sea Grill was exceedingly polite, the food was excellent, and the ambiance was very romantic. From the host to the coat check lady to the servers, this place was absolutely classy. The food was wonderful - we had the lobster and the New Zealand salmon. Dessert was chocolate fondue for two and way too much for us to finish but it was delicious! Highly recommended!
- Pros: awesome food
This place really understands sea food

Went here for restaurant week with two friends and the experience was spectacular. The location is wonderful and it was snowing which really added to the experience as we looked out onto the skating rink. I had one piece of salmon sushi as me and a friend waited for the third person to join our group. The single sushi piece was a little (actually very) pricy at $5 per piece but the fish was really fresh and I will definitely go back for more sushi when I'm in the mood to indulge. We had three courses as part of the price fixed menu and everything from the mushroom soup, to the trout and chocolate ganache was absolutely delectable. The mushroom soup had an emulsion of cream at the top, which added a very creative touch and gave the soup that extra umph. The trout was cooked to perfection and served over a bed of shaved brussle sprouts. The dessert was edible art. The chef had arranged chocolate ganache, almond torte, orange icecream, and scooped out pear in such a visually pleasing way that I did not want to ruin it, but it five minutes later, my plate was wiped clean; my haste in consuming it was a true testament to the taste, for the flavors came together in a way which appealed very much to my taste buds. I love the restaurant and I have no complaints about the service for that was also wonderful. The bottled water was expensive at $9 per bottle so I will opt for the tap water. The food was great and you should give it a try. If you don't want to pay so much for the entre, then go at a time when they offer the price fix menu. Lots of places can prepare good sea food but this place turned lunch into a culinary experience.

We went here for our anniversary, and it was perfect. Romantic dining (quiet, upscale) with prompt service. I had the tasting menu and everything was fantastic. Definitely one of the better NYC restaurants
- Pros: Food, service, ambiance
- Cons: Slightly expensive, but completely worth it
Great food, wonderful view, terrific service.

I propsed to my girlfriend here on Saturday Nov 8 and it was beautiful. The service was terrific, the Maitre'd Rick was very helpful in making the proposal go smooth. We had reservations for 7, got their early and he sat us pretty quickly and got us a nice table facing the window so we could see the Ice. The food was great. I had the swordfish and she had the yellowfin tuna. They were both cooked perfectly. It was truly and wonderful night.
- Pros: service, maitre'd and food were all great
- Cons: none on this night
A SEA OF DISAPPOINTMENT.

I went to The Sea Grill a few Nights ago for my friend's birthday. We had made reservations one month prior. Upon our arrival we were treated as if we were garbage that had blown in from the avenue. Our food was average to say the least. The oysers were fishy. My crabcakes had shells in them. I would have never sent them back but I found it incredibly rude that our very masculine waitress, Kimberly, never even approached our table to see how everything was. We were never asked if we wanted any more wine and God knows we could have used another drink after that. We had to ask two managers for our waitress and were brushed off as if we were stupid chicks. First off, I am sure that I have more education in my pinky than they all had put together. To top it all off, the managers seemed completely un-phased that we were completely dissatisfied with our service. Don't waste your time and money.
- Pros: Great location.
- Cons: Nasty Oysters, "crunchy" crabcakes, Terrible service.
sooo much better since they have a new Chef....Chef Jawn Chasteen

It is like a breath of fresh air!
Ed Brown finally left....long overdue...so sick & tired of the same boring
chowder & crabcakes.
Better food quality & presentation.
- Pros: you have a view of the rink ...Jawn Chasteen is the new chef
- Cons: tourists are gross

this restaurant is fantastic. i have been here 2 times. and both times, every part of my dinner, from walking in the door and being seated promptly, to the extremely knowledgeable wait staff, was perfect.
the tables are spacious, the food is exquisite. the dessert even, is wonderful. and so is the wine list (the wine list is very expensive, i think the cheapest bottle was $55, and the average price is $100's) but there was a huge selection. they also have a full bar, where they make great tasting drinks. they do not rush you, i sat at dinner last saturday night for almost 2 full hours, and was not rushed even after we paid the bill.
for great seafood, and great service, this is the perfect place.
- Pros: service, spacious, wonderful plating, great taste, great seafood selection

My Fiancee and I went to the Sea Grill for my birthday dinner last night. We were greeted at the door by the maitre 'de and another gentleman, who were both extremely welcoming and charming. They told us that a table was ready for us if we wanted to sit, as we were half an hour early for our reservation. We decided to sit at the bar for a cocktail, as we asked if a window table could be made avaliable to us. The maitre 'de told us he would see what he could do. Within fifteen minutes he came over to us and told us a table was ready, he sat us at a wonderful table over looking the ice rink and the fountain. My one complaint was that it was very cold at the table, we asked our waiter about this and he told us that unfortunately it was something they could not control, the building controlled the temperature, so I spent the whole of my dinner wearing my fiancee's jacket! Anyway, that did not detract that much from the amazing dining experience we had. Our waiter was so wonderfully helpful, we had chosen a wine that they had run out of and he went to great lengths to find us something as tasty and within our budget. We went to the Sea Grill when they were only serving a prix fixe three course holiday menu, this was by no means a hinderance to our experience. The choice was great, I had a very fresh subtly flavoured tuna tartare and my fiancee had delicious foie gras. I then had the lump crab cakes, which I believe are a speciality of the Sea Grill, I was not disappointed, they were quite frankly the best I have had in the City! My fiancee had the venison, which our waiter had swooned over and from the look on my future husbands face while he was relishing every mouthful the waiter had been correct to recommend them!! Desserts were also perfect!!! From start to finish this was truly a wonderful experience.
- Pros: Food and service
- Cons: Temperature of dining room!
