My cat was sick after picking up a virus while boarding (elsewhere). He had come down with this sort of ailment after boarding before, but on this occasion had stopped eating for more than three days, which is deadly as the liver starts to fail in cats - it's called feline anorexia. All of this I knew, so I went to this animal hospital because they could see me immediately, in hopes that they would give the cat some fluids and possibly tube feed him. The vet assigned to my cat was Alison Abramson, who immediately began to pressure me into all sorts of procedures to determine what was wrong with the cat - I'm talking extensive procedures adding up to over $800 in one visit - and giving me worst case scenarios (cancer, bowel obstruction, pancreatitis) when I showed even the slightest hesitance to proceed with the procedures in question. Meanwhile, my cat was getting prodded and poked and deprived of the essential hydration we had come in for. To the point that when he was returned to me after being taken behind closed doors, he had urinated all over himself. This is a cat that purrs while having his temperature taken rectally, as well as when he has shots. Completely unacceptable and disturbing. When I protested Dr. Abramson's upselling techniques (after questioning me on what I did for my profession and launching into a long-winded soliloquy on her husband's similar occupation) she spoke louder and interrupted me. As if this disrespectful and uncouth form of communication with a pet owner concerned about their cat's life was not enough, she proceded to laugh at me when I asked a question pertaining to the description I was being given of what could be wrong with my cat. All in all, the only service of use that Dr. Abramson provided was the subcutaneous administration of fluids to hydrate my little cat. $800 dollars later, I took my traumatized, urine-soaked kitty home where I force fed him by hand and he resumed eating on his own in a day or two.

My cat Mimi had an ungoing medical symptoms which was not resolved by other vet from Eveshame Clinic in south Jersey. I'm new in town and didn't know any one, so I googled and found Park East Animal Hospital. They caught my attention, because they offer evening hour appointment. I called in the afternoon and they immediately schedule an appointment a few hours later. Dr. Talia Goldberg greeted me in person right on time of my appoitment and politely apologized for running behind the schedule. When I went in, she took a thorough report of Mimi, asking detailed questions to get an idea of how Mimi is doing before letting her out of the carrier. The way she and the nurse handled Mimi was with lots of kindness and gentelness, even their voices are calming and caring that I'm sure was the reason Mimi was cooperative and relaxed. Dr. Goldberg recommended treatments as well as preventive measure and was open to my financial capability. She demonstrated how to administer the pills, offered "pill gun" and helped me to practice while I was there. She is very knowledgeable, and she wrote down her diagnosis for me to research per my request. She even recommend another vet in my neighborhood in consideration of my traveling distance and the financial cost. I appreciate having a positive experience with Dr. Goldberg and the assisting nurses in the Park East Animal Hospital. It is certain that they genuinely care about the animals that they will make the best suggestion to meet the needs of the owners. I strongly recommend Park East Animal Hospital.

Pros: knowledgeable vmds and staff, caring and warm environment, flexible office hours

Cons: cost is slightly high
