Bait and switch
by charlesjanay
Usually when you offer a 'deal of the day' it's to bring in new customers, Not here. They made an offer through a deal of the day site where you paid $5 upfront for $10 towards a purchase. When I went to redeem it a couple of months later (it was valid for 6 months) I placed my order, and presented the certificate when it was time to pay, and it was refused acceptance. Fraud.
cute spot
by sunnynero8
The only thing wrong with this place is that it is small. It has pillows everywhere and its cute but its almost uncomfortable because its tight and there are like 3-4 tiny tables and if you talk the person at the counter can listen in on your conversation.
- Pros: nice food and coffee, really cute
- Cons: small
My Favorite morning spot!
by SErin
This is a wonderful treat in our neighborhood. It's a cozy, warm delicious spot to spend a few minutes in while getting that perfect cup of java.
- Pros: Self service fressh coffee
- Cons: the crowds
Charming
by SarahBeth01
This place is so cute and has a lot of character. The first time I went in there I was just admiring the decor and the selection of gifts and coffee beans! The "motto" for Java girl is so cute that I had to start Christmas shopping early! I was just visiting the city for a couple of days but my friend showed me "one of her favorite" coffee shops and I would have to agree. Did I mention that the coffee was really good too?? We ended up going there the next morning too.
- Pros: Great coffee as well as charm!
A real coffeehouse
by PhilLaw
Java Girl is a true coffeehouse--a meeting place for blue collars, white collars and others. Great coffee, no pretense, fresh homemade sandwiches, soups, salads and more. A friendly staff of real people. And its 8 year run attests to its quality. One of a kind place that helped make a bunch of strangers into a neighborhood.
- Pros: Great coffee; chill atmosphere; real food
- Cons: Closes at 7:00 pm
Cozy neighborhood coffeehouse
by kayreichert
Java Girl has the best coffee in the city, and they have a great selection too. The atmosphere is very cozy and inviting making it a great place to read or journal. Also, the staff is very knowledgeable about the different varieties of coffee. And if you can't find a seat inside, they have comfy chairs outside as well.
- Pros: Ambience, Great coffee and selection
- Cons: not enough seats
Love this little hole
by frappuccinousa
It's not easy to nab a sit here as the lucky souls who lives around fills it up to 6PM. One would walk right by if he didn't look for this place but what a gem it is if you find it! Even my most snutty girlfriend fell in love with this cozy place! Bad news is it closes really early-7PM (too early for a coffee/tea shop in a residential area.
- Pros: cozy hide away, friendly bunch, good mocha
- Cons: small-lack seats, closes to early
Best Coffee in the Best Atmosphere
by mainegirl482
This place has the best coffee in the heart of the upper east side. You can't go wrong with any one of their great coffees. The place has the most welcoming atmosphere with small tables, a window seat, scrabble games, and books of poetry scattered around- that's all not to mention the music is always good and always different. The only complaint I have is the owners aren't as friendly as they could be- let's just say I go there every morning for a cup of joe and they still haven't recognized me when I come in and the greeting is friendly but absent. But like I said, on your way to work or on a Sunday morning with a good book this coffee shop is unbeatable.
- Pros: COFFEE, Snacks, Gift Baskets/T-Shirts
- Cons: , sitting space
The Best of the Best Java Girl
by Mermaid1
This charming coffee shop and meeting place is the best in the city, if not the world!! A combination of European atmosphere and Downtown friendly, this is the place for THE BEST JAVA, THE BEST JAVA GIRLS, THE BEST JAVA MUSIC, AND THE BEST JAVA FUN!! Owner Linda and her crew make you feel as if you're at home, and no one knows more about coffee than Linda!!
