DON'T BOTHER!!!....

As a frequent patron of this old time italian restaurant where i had grown to love their zabiglone and spaghetti bolognese, I've become a dissident as of late and will never go back. their service is atrocious and reminiscent of old men losing their memories. for me, I gave it a second chance(having gone here almost thirty times prior) after one instance where several of our orders were wrong and the meatballs were dry (just like the waiter's snobby and condescending personality). We walked in to this "cash only" establishment just wanting to have dessert because we craved the zabiglone and with literally only two tables full and thirty empty, we were snubbed and humiliated in front of the other customers as our waiter loudly shouted "no we dont do that here." Don't do what? I asked, he said "you have to eat dinner to get dessert" which I personally think is ridiculous, and as he pulled away the bread he was about to put down he yelled over to one other waiter telling him of what we had dared to do. on our way out the manager who I thought would have recognized me asked what happened, and we said "tried to order dessert" he just said "oh" and let us walk out like dogs in the street. i will never go back again, b/c honestly the food isnt all its cracked up to be especially for terrible service and cash only high prices. good luck.
- Pros: one good dessert
- Cons: service, prices, ambience..
Overpriced

Overpriced, average food. Place tries to be something it is not. You can get the same quality food at your local pizza place.
- Pros: Location
- Cons: Overpriced average food

Love it. I always go with out-of-towners. Get the paglia & fieno.

this place no doubt has great food, but the atmosphere is awful. if you are younger and looking for a fun, upbeat time, do not go here. they do not play music at this restaurant. the service is very good and attentive, but I personally cannot see past not playing music. its so dull.
- Pros: , good for old folks
- Cons: , filled with old folks

We discovered this place on a rainy Monday night.
We were welcomed with open arms and treated like the family. The food is good italian home cooking without any extras. If you are looking for a friendly family Italian restaurant without airs or graces, this is the place. This is the epitome of the neighborhood restaurant.
- Pros: good food, very friendly, great service
- Cons: , plain food, cash only
great discovery!

When you look in through the window you wonder why this old looking place with zebra red wallpaper is always packed with people (and why they haven't updated the wallpaper..)?? I'm glad my husband and I stroked our curiousity because the pasta dishes are so good, my mouth is watering as I write this! The tricolor tagalini pasta dish is amazing...the pasta is so fresh and really homemade! The chilled asparagus with vinegarette is delicous! When the soft shell crabs are in season, they are a must too! We live in the neighborhood and have been back 5 times since April! Tell you anything?

The zebras are the most memorable thing about this place, there's no doubt. Then again, they're so very striking that that implies nothing bad about the food, which is a very serviceable Italian. Not unduly fancy, this is a place where you can get red wine or white -- but a request for pinot grigot is met with a raised eyebrow. If you can deal with that -- and enjoy the old-school atmosphere -- you'll have a blast.
