A throughly enjoyable evening, from cocktails through dessert, everything was spectacular. The menu last evening included the opportunity to try a duo of Hudson Valley Rabbit (roasted saddle with flageolets and braised leg fleishnacke with wilted chard), crispy Calf's Head Ballotine with Orleans mustard, flaked Atlantic Cod with cumin-carrot puree, or roasted Liberty Farm Duck Breast with bing cherries (I've only listed the main courses ordered by my table). The service was attentive without being overbearing, and the three courses were evenly spaced. I am far from being a world traveler, but this dinng experience is second only to Charlie Trotters in Chicago and that says alot.

I came here with a couple of friends for a nice weekday dinner. We had three course prix fixe dinner $105. I had the trio of sea scallops, oven baked dover sole and bittersweet chocolate praliné crémeu. All were delicious. I think fingers would have been speared with a fork had anyone tried to go for more than that. Great service, friendly staff, and great food. whee! I'll be going back real soon.

We celebrated our 1st anniversary here & was not disappointed. From the moment we walked in, we were completely cared for. The dinner was a delightful experience and the chef's attention to detail remarkable. Everything tasted amazing: the trio scallop ceviche each had a refreshing yet savory flavor. The due abalone were both delish, altho I preferred the baked vs fried version. Would totally recommend the due aged beef, it was a perfect progression. My favorite were the canapes, each had it's own personality & a wonderful start to a delicious evening. The service was impeccable and made for a v special nite. Would love to return for the 6-course tasting!

Pros: Service, Food, Ambiance, Attention to detail, Wine list

Cons: Only one: No reservations beyond a month in advance & even then preferred time slot was booked

I have been in good restaurants, but this was something else: a unique gastronomic experience... my sister and brother in law were in town so I took them to Daniel. Dish after dish it was the most exquisite meal we've ever had, and the SERVICE was beyond belief ...all I can say it's worth every penny, I can't wait to go back.

From start to finish - always a great time! We've been to Daniel's flagship spot 4 times now in the past year and it never disappoints. We've enjoyed drinks in the bar and dinner in both the main room and the more intimate dining room which is raised above the lounge and all have been stellar experiences. The service is impecable and the food is to die for. The wine list is deep and Daniel is always nice enough to stop by and chat it up. For such a food celeb, he's the most down to earth chef in the biz. You may have to mortgage the house to pay the bill, but you only live once. Hats off to DB for keeping his food up in the heavens while keeping his feet on the ground. Kudos DB!

Pros: Design of the space, Wine List, Food, Service

Cons: A bit expensive

After an amazing day where my boyfriend proposed to me, what a way to top the day with a night out at what is the best restaurant I have ever been to. Daniel's service is beyond amazing, we were looked after from the second we walked in the door! The food was out of this world, staff were attentive and looked after us with what seemed like even more detail given we got engaged that day. Would definitely recommend anyone go there that doesn't mind spending good money for an amazing experience.

Pros: Great food, Great service

My girlfriend took me here for my birthday this past weekend and boy do I owe her bigtime now... Wonderful place, the total package, decor, professionalism, masterful wine pairings and knowledge, and above all else, the FOOD. Subtlety reigns in this restaurant, flavors blend and amuse they don't assault you. Everything was fresh as could possibly be. My girlfriends vegetarian tasting menu was very nice and very creative (all too often say "vegetarian" and you get a plate of steamed vegetables-not the case here). My tasting menu was a perfect progression. We were seated at a quiet table for two with a perfect view of the rest of the restaurant. Service, top notce but not over bearing. I recommend some interaction with the staff, ask questions, comment as you go, etc. it made for a great evening. We'll be headed back for certain.

Pros: Food and wine knowledge, wait staff, FOOD

Cons: None really

After asking to be moved away from the waiter station, our second table was great. It is beautiful, but I was disappointed with the tasting menu. It took us till the 5th course to finally moan from the meat course. I found both the scallop and salmon courses to be overcooked - the cod was great. I've been drinking Veuve all week for my b-day celebrating and thought I'd try something different, but their Daniel champagne was horribly off. I definitely feel this restaurant is overrated. Maybe the better chefs from the kitchen were all at his cafe as it just received a wonderful write up in the NY Times. Stick to meat as it seems they know that best, but if you want seafood, Le Bernardin will always be on the top.
