I've had better Afghani food
by roahmed
I went to Afghan Kebab House II after going to the Afghan Kebab house on 9th ave about 10 times, but they are definitely not the same. The food at Afghan Kebab House II was sub-par, and the service was slow. The table next to ours had finished with their meal before we even got our appetizers, and we had came in first. It was hard to get mad at the waiter because he was extremely sweet, but the delay in the food was annoying. The lamb kebabs were good, but their rice was too sweet. Overall, I'd rather go back to the Afghan Kebab House on 9th avenue.
- Pros: Lamb kebabs
- Cons: Slow service, very cramped space
Good first time experience

Excellent value. Upbeat service. Very tasty food. Bonus... Its a BYO, and there is a deli on one side and a decent wine shop a block away on the other side. Only downside for the restaurant is that it looks a bit lifeless, almost a delivery-type place from the outside. Inside its charming.
Best Afghan food!

This was a very good restaurant. The decor was nice, the area was nice, the food was great and the service was impeccable. I have all good things to say about this place. It's also not very expensive. And did I mention the food is GREAT!!! I highly recommend this place.
- Pros: Decor, Food, Service, Pricey!
- Cons: None

In addition to the namesake kebabs, the restaurant serves traditional appetizers, spiced half-chickens, a vegetarian platter and dessert.
Afghan Kebab House -- 70th Street

I had lunch there a few days ago and was very favorably impressed. The service was very good, prompt etc and the food was unexpectedly good. The price was very reasonable. The qualilty to cost ration, if there is one, is very high and I recommend this place, for lunch at least, if you are in the area. I definitely will be going back there again.
- Pros: Great food, low cost
- Cons: I have none.

Yummy Food, but Horrible Service
by trojanchick
I love the food here, but after being stressed out numerous times by the service (or lack there of) I've decided that the taste is not worth the trouble. Twice I have walked out because I sat at my table for over 20 min without so much as even getting a glass of water, much less someone trying to take my order. Also, once I ordered for delivery and after calling back twice to see where my food was, sent it back and refused to pay for it after it got there almost and hour and a half after I placed the order!!
If you want any kind of customer service--don't go here and expect to get it. Good food is not hard to find in NYC, but good service is--and it certainly ain't here.
- Pros: Food is Yummy
- Cons: Service is the worst I have ever experienced; taste not worth the trouble
