Eccellente!!

I have been eating from Serafina Fabulous Grill on 61st & Park since it opened. I can frankly say that it is my favorite restaurant to eat because the food is FABULOUs and the Chef is ECCELLENTE!! I wasn't surprised that he was a Mexican import. Nowadays all cultures seem to influence just about everyone in NYC. He is a great, humble guy. The food acquires an exclusive taste that can not be found any where but there! I have tried almost everything on the menu and I reccommend everything depending on one's preference. In generall, the Chef givies the restaurant a unique touch, the food is out of this world and the atmosphere is lively.

Good Food...AWFUL Phone Manners

Called on September 10th to make a reservation and the perosn answering the phone at 4pm said "no reservation needed" and when I asked if she was sure, she hung up. I called back and asked for the manager and got hung up on again. When I went to the site to complain, there was no place to do so...so I hope the owners are reading this and replace the rude receptionist on the phone.

Other than that, its a great place.

Horrible service! Do NOT go here!

I made a reservation at Serafina on 61st over a week before my 25th birthday for dinner with 14 of my family and friends. I have dined there before and loved the food and atmosphere and found the prices reasonable for Manhattan.

Yesterday morning, around 1030am i recieved a call from Serafina to confirm my reservation for that evening...no problem i thought. My parents arrived a half hour early (the place was close to empty) and the staff decided to wait until we were all seated to tell us that there was NO PASTA, NO CALAMARI, NO LOBSTER, NO GOAT CHEESE....and i dont even know what else bc their "kitchen broke"...whatever that means. i started to ask what they do have and was told "pizza and some salads". if i wanted pizza and salad i wouldnt have had my friends drive in from long island and i would have also changed my plans to go to another Serafina location had i had more notice of the situation like, oh i dont know, maybe that morning when they called or perhaps the half hour we spent at the bar before we sat down!!

I was never apologized to, the manager was a moron, and the only compensation we received was rude, clueless service and free sodas and a dessert (which was served with no utensils!!)

There are too many other restaurants to spend my money and time in this city...dont waste it on Serafina! Thanks for beginning my birthday on a sour, overpriced, soggy pizza and watered down sangria note.

oh and not to mention the 20% gratuity they added on for my 11 person party...under normal circumstances i would understand, but give me a break!! our waiter never even asked how things were-

I NEVER ATE SO FAST IN MY LIFE

I HAD NEVER BEEN TO ANY SERAFINA LOCATIONS. I'VE HEARD SO MANY GOOD THINGS ABOUT THEM. THEY ARE VERY MUCH INTO THE ITALIAN CULTURAL FOOD WHICH I LOVE . BETWEEN APPETIZERS AND ENTREE'S AND DESSERT WE WERE DONE IN 40 MINS FLAT. THE SERVICE WAS GOOD BUT CAME WAY TO FAST. I ATE MY LAST BITE AND THE BUSBOY WAS WAITING FOR ME TO PUT IT IN MY MOUTH SO HE CAN TAKE MY PLATE. THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS BUT IF I WANTED TO EAT "FAST" FOOD I WOULDVE ATE AT MC DONALDS AND SAVED ABOUT $80.00

• Cons: VERY BUSY RESTAURANT, IN THIS CASE FOOD CAME WAY TO FAST AS IF THEY WANTED PEOPLE IN AND OUT!

Worst delivery ever

Do not order delivery from this place. We gave up after 2.5 hours of waiting and endless lies from the person who took the order at Serafina.

Story changed number of times from delivery person left already to I have called you to say that fires are not available. You did not order fries; well something else is not available. Why I did not leave a message!!!!??? I am too busy to leave message to everybody and so on?

Well, still hungry and calling 212 at 65th to get our meals...

What happened to this place?

i used to love this place. Frequented the one up on Madison, cheered when they opened the one down on Lafayette. This one (which is near my office so i could go there anytime) has become such a dump. There are FLIES EVERYWHERE. It is disgusting. Must be a serious health hazard. The waitstaff seems truly fed up. Some of the dishes are still great, but i got sick one day after i had the one of the salads which put me off the place for a while.

If they can clean up their act, it should stick around. It's a great menu. Mozzarella with proscuitto? to die for. So dreamy. Don't order delivery - the presentation is pathetic and they skimp on certain aspects - like the basil garnish which to me is an integral part of any dish that includes basil (ie - it's not GARNISh - its a key ingredient - so where is it?). If I order a caprese salad, i expect more than one single baby basil leaf.

Anyway, if you go, be sure to order the house focaccia which has goat cheese and truffle oil. Oh my. It might be worth fighting off the flies to have another taste of that sometime soon....

• Cons: Poor, rushed service. Cramped quarters. FLY INFESTATION!

great pizza

It is true that the crowd sometimes consists of very wealthy older men trying to find young women. I have seen that a few times. We never had a bad experience with the service. The pizza is great. The bartender is really funny. The restaurant is a little bit on the loud side though.
