i would NOT recommend anyone to use flowers by lexington and for several reasons. first, they essentially stole 250 dollars from me because i signed up for 1 years worth of flower via a charity auction. i got flowers for 2 months and then it stopped. They have refused to honor the rest of the 10 months and basically told me to shut up and told me that i got defrauded. he said he didn't have a computer system or anything of the sort. refused to even ask what my name was to check his records. they were extremely rude over the phone to the point of embarrasment. Sam is the owner. I plan on calling amex to try to get my money back. flowers are a high margin business. take your business to someone who cares and is nice.

DON'T BUY FLOWERS FROM THIS PLACE! I ordered a flowerpot of cacti for my boyfriend and he instead was delivered a ceramic vase of lucky bamboo. I called to ask why no one called me to see if that was ok and the manager, Sam, said that he called my cell to let me know and didn't get an answer. Rather than wait for me to call back or try the alternate phone number included in my order, he delivers the bamboo. I specifically ordered the cacti becuase it has special meaning. When I called to complain, the guy tells me that he can pick them back up and reimburse me because he doesn't want to talk to me anymore because I "argue to much". I asked him to email me a picture of the arrangement so that I could see if it was comperable. He tells me that there's not one available. Then he tells me that he never has a cactus in stock. I asked him why it was still available for ordering on his website and he has no reason to offer other than "I should have called to check". (Um, why would i place my order online and call on top of that!) I told him that it would be very inappropriate to go to my boyfirnd's office and TAKE BACK the gift and that instead, I'd appreciate some sort of compensation. I don't even know if they are of the same value as the cacti. What's most hilatious is that the guys tells me that, as compensation, he'll give me free delivery on a future order... I'd never order from there again.

Pros: none

Cons: this palce is terrible.

I am said boyfriend (read curlyqlc). At first I wasn't going to write a response, because I felt hers captured my feelings well. That was until I saw that Flowers on Lex ran another transaction with my card, for another $100+, for no reason at all. So if we are keeping track here, that is over $200 that has essentially been stolen from me. I would strongly recommend that anyone interested in flowers in the Manhattan area go elsewhere, because it appears that the proprietors of this establishment have no trouble at all being irrational honorless thieves. Strong words I know, but truthful. If I keep one person from going through what I am currently experiencing, this will all have been worth it. So...for the sake of this post, let's recap: January 31, 2007 @ 1:35pm - I place order for flowers, to be delivered on Feb. 14th February 1, 2007 @ unknown - I pay for flowers ordered day before February 14, 2007 - No flowers Febraury 15, 2007 - I call and speak to the co-owner, his story changes from the doorman turning the delivery person away, to the doorman currently has them, to my girlfriend picked them up yesterday. Over the course of 4 phone calls I am called a liar, that I am "playing games," that I will receive no refund and that I will have to take him to small claims court. February 15, 2007 - Mid-afternoon I file a complaint with the Better Bizness Bureau and call my bank to dispute the charges February 17, 2007 @ 2:54pm - I am charged again by Flowers on Lex February 19, 2007 @ 1:50pm - Call my bank again, tell them of this. Have to get a new card, and dispute the additional charges as well. Awesome. So, I have paid for 2 dozen roses, received no roses, have a headache, have the knowledge that someone has my account number and isn't afraid to use it, have to go through the hassle of disputing debit charges, have to walk 10 miles to work...in the snow...uphill both ways, etc. Please, please....think carefully about my warning

Pros: Non

Cons: Please read to understand

My boyfriend ordered me a dozen roses for valentines day and i still have yet to receive them. The flowers were preordered a few weeks early and he has already been charged a ridiculous amount for them. We called the florist valentines day evening after not receiving the flowers and were told that due to weather conditions, deliveries were delayed but we would receive them within a few hours. The following day, after still not receiving the flowers, my boyfriend called the florist and was told by the 'owner' that we were lying and in fact did receive the flowers and were trying to 'cheat him' out of business. The owner changed his story several times and eventually we simply asked for a refund. Not only were we told that our money would not be refunded, but we were told that if we did not pay, he would take us to small claims court and charge my apartment building with defamation. The story gets much worse but my recommendation is that you stay VERY far away from this business.

Pros: Flowers nice

Cons: horrible business and customer service

My experience with the owner of this store was nothing less than horrific. I found a nice $40 arrangement on his website, so i called to order it instead of using the internet. He proceeds to tell me that only a "Premium" version is available, which is much more money. When I then said I could not afford it and inquired as to what else I could purchase that included tax and delivery ($7.50 on the web) came to only about $50, he said that he was not willing to deliver to the Upper West Side (who doesnt deliver to Riverside Blvd?) and would have to charge me even more money so it looks is if he won't be able to accommodate me. Obviously, they are only interested in the big-ticket items. My advice: stay away.

If you need to send a special arrangement to impress someone do not send flowers from Flowers on Lexington. I called three days before my wife's birthday to ensure she recieved flowers on her birthday. It was promised to be delivered the morning of and barely made it by the end of the day. I also ordered a beautiful arrangement , Teleflora's Zen Gerbera Bowl - Deluxe and they sent the order to another local florist for arrangement - not designed by the home of designer team Sang & Taeko, whose creative and upscale design is well known at Upper East Side of Manhattan. (Complete lie) Needless to say my wife received a cheap glass vase with simple flower arrangement. When I called them to ask why they were the flowers I orded they mentioned that they did not deliver to that part of the city. (The flowers were to be delivered in Manhattan no less, within their delivery range as stated on their website!) When I asked them to replace the flowers with the item shown on the website they said "you must be kidding, you just forget about your money. It's lost" Again, If you truly want to save yourself the aggravation, please do not order from here.
