Bring them your dried-out, over-processed, heat-damaged tresses yearning to be saved.

by Contributor at Citysearch

The Scene
This Parisian hair spa and treatment center emphasizes a scientific approach to hair health that's reinforced by the pristine white interior, lab-coated staff and high-tech equipment. But there's no skimping on luxury--this is Madison Avenue, after all. Along with complimentary drinks, you've got private treatment areas equipped with telephones and fully-reclining chairs that swivel right to adjacent sinks.

The Services
Every client starts with a hair diagnosis, involving a video hair analyzer (a camera that zooms in on your hair and scalp) and a strand test to determine the condition of your tresses. Customized in-salon conditioning treatments are the specialty; scalp and hair treatments are steamed in, then shampoo and conditioning finish the job. Even color services have a healthy approach--bleach is never used. Cuts, blowouts, straightening and manicures/pedicures are also available.

Not worth the price

by salonsearch at Citysearch

My first clue that I would not be getting a stellar cut at this place was when I was sent to the sink without a consultation. I was met with confused looks when I asked to have the stylist see what my hair even looks like dry. As for the cut, I have had better cuts in the suburbs for half the price.

  • Cons: expensive, dirty facility, poor customer service

great cut/color

by Bracki at Citysearch

After an awful experience at another "top" NY salon (where I was overbleached and underserved), I decided to give JFL a shot because I love their products. I was very, very happy w/the results (both cut & color). The personal attention I received was an added plus. I'm DEFINITELY going back....

  • Pros: skilled staff, great attitude, convenient location
  • Cons: NY prices (of course!

Not Bad at All!

by City_Goer at Citysearch

My girlfriends chipped in and gave me a gift certificate to the salon as a birthday gift. One of my girlfriends had her hair done there years ago... so I knew I couldnt get the same stylist. I read the reviews on here and almost dreaded going (good thing I didnt let that stop me).

It really was a nice experience. The staff was friendly and helpful. The colorist who did my hair had a wonderful personality and my color came out beautiful. I received great compliments afterward.I also got a manicure and pedicure and that was lovely too!

I think I'll send my mom there for her birthday.

Gorigous products in a familial atmosphe

by RONGISNEB at Citysearch

After a visit at Lazartigue, I got to understand why my hair was looking so lifeless... and I just got convinced by the products they made me try ! So gorgious. Their products are just so efficient, and it seems they just can answer all my questions. The salon is very small and familial, but you feel like at home !

  • Pros: quality, attention
  • Cons: decoration, speed
