Since moving to NJ, I've missed many things about NYC, Dessert Delivery NY among them. So, I made it a point to pop in yesterday when I was in the city with a friend. Still incredible. I ordered one each of their white chocolate and chocolate chip cookies (still huge, chewy, and decadent), white chocolate lemon truffle torte (still like eating clouds of bliss), cheesecake (something new to try!), and Joann even plopped two chocolate covered macaroons in with my order. I split some of it yesterday with a friend and saved the rest of it for today when I meet a few friends for brunch. I'll certainly be telling them to save room for dessert! This was my first experience with macaroons and they were absolutely delicious! Thank you Joann and Sam for providing the consistent quality (both in goods and service) that you do. Any smart tourists would do some research and make sure to come to your bakery instead of wasting time at the overly hyped Magnolia or Buttercup bakeries, which are either full of cranky staff (Buttercup), greedy customers (Magnolia), or both!
Pros: Joann, Sam, and the fruits of their labor.
Cons: They're not in NJ!

I have used Dessert delivery because I love their cakes, because a) they are delicious and b) I assumed they were backed on premises by a premiere pastry chefs. As a gift this year, I thought what would be a perfect gift for an elderly women with fine tastes that two dozen of Dessert Delivery's fine petits fours. To make sure I got my order in time, I didnt just observe their standard 24 hour notice, I ordered them 48 hours in advance. At the appointed day, I personally went over to pick up my petits fours. They were perfect, they looked perfect, in varying decorations. There was the candy cane decoration, the holly decoration, the present decoration absolutely perfect. 24 petits fours at a cost of $60 plus. Christmas day, I bring my gift over and I am excited at the thought. She has a nice gift for me too. Well when I open my box from nieman marcus, imagine my surprise to see a box of IDENTICAL petits fours, taste the same, the same decorations, no difference. We laughed at how odd it was we gave each other the same gift. Only problem, I thought my gift was baked on premises and I paid a premium price for it. My friend on the other hand, ordered them online at Neiman Marcus, 36 petits fours for $30 bucks. So, my thinking is if they dont bake the petits fours on premises chances are there is a lot of other product that can be bought for less somewhere else you can even find a nice picture of the same petits fours at horchows online site just search for petits fours \
Pros: delicous
Cons: who knows if they baked it

That's what you can expect from Joann(e) and Sam. I've gone there quite a few times and they're always so warm and welcoming. Both are more than happy to help me, but they've never been overbearing or forceful and they let me take my time and meander and take in the entire experience that is their adorable bakery. I tell as many people as possible to pop in for a visit and I take advantage of every special occasion to pick up some treats to lure people to discover it for themselves. Most recently, I went in to pick up some cookies for a friend's birthday and Joann(e) prepared a lovely selection of cookies, which were received by all at the restaurant with ever-widening eyes and smiles. When asked if we wanted dessert, the birthday girl herself exclaimed proudly: "No thanks. We have something better!" Joann(e) and Sam are also more than happy to share their newest treats, but again, they're not forceful. I had already had dinner when Sam offered me a taste of their walnut and cranberry tart, but I didn't want to eat too much so he kindly packed it away for me to enjoy at another time - a time I am very much looking forward to. Joann(e) even took the time to explain the difference between a tart and torte. Overall, I truly enjoy seeing both of them and they're both grateful to see me even if I've not been able to make it in for a while. It's just so incredibly inviting and with their phenomenal treats...well that just seals the deal. Please, give yourself a break from the hyped up bakeries that lack personality and genuine creativity and treat yourself to a rare jewel in New York City. I would like to apologize to Joann(e) for not knowing how her name is spelled. Shame on me!
Pros: Inviting atmosphere, delectable treats, and lovely proprietors
Cons: They don't live with me!

I went here for the first time yesterday to buy a selection of desserts for a meeting. When I told the owner that I was tired of getting dried out cupcakes, brownies, etc. from other bakeries she declared that all of their desserts are very fresh and moist. She helped me pick out an assortment of brownies, cookies and dessert bars...and then threw in a cupcake for free for me to try. The cupcake was out of this world good. It was moist! The buttercream frosting was absolutely perfect! This gave me high hopes for the goodies I bought for my meeting, so I was very happy when every single thing I bought was proclaimed excellent by my fellow attendees. Everyone clustered around the dessert tray trying different things until it was all gone. I would highly recommend Dessert Delivery. The baked goods were excellent, the shop is very attractive and the staff was wonderful.
Pros: The goodies are excellent and they deliver
Cons: Too much temptation to pig out

I can't bring myself to shop anywhere else for my bakery delicacies, personal and corporate gifts and specialty desserts. The quality of their cakes, cookies and pastries is so far superior to anywhere else in this city that you become hooked. Sam and Joann are the most helpful and friendly owners who have always gone the extra mile for me when I needed something very special in a short time. My clients love to get my gifts from DD. P.S. The store is beautiful with an adorable tearoom.
Pros: Beautiful desserts, Great Service, Highest quality
