Went for wine week and had an awesome time. This was my 3rd year and wouldn't miss it. I forward to going back soon.
- Pros: wine, steak
- Cons: a little crowded
Still Daydreaming about it 6 months later...

As I was caught in an unexpected rainstorm - and hungry - so this place wasn't a planned stop on my foodie itinerary for NYC. But the Gods looked out for me. At this one restaurant I found my new favorite cocktail (Sidecar), a steak to shame all steaks and a new dining standard -- all with many thanks to my fantastic server and a bartender who suddenly appeared to suggest a few cocktails after I made a face at the standard oversweet girly items on the list (I may be a girl but I believe high fructose corn syrup shouldn't be in martini glass!) Barely a nod from the server had the bartender at the table and I have to say that our slightly bedraggled, underdressed, rain-soaked group didn't scream "Big Tippers!" The second love of my life, Chateaubrand for Two, was introduced to me and my mother and neither of us felt embarrassed for threatening each other for the last bite. Housemade steak sauce was a tangy twist on the traditional, layered with flavors and a treat next to the steak which was already prepared, presented and delivered perfectly. I've had a few great steaks in my foodie existence but this went a step above - it was so flavorful and delicate and delicious and rich I'm not sure how else to explain it other than tell you I've been thinking about this steak for 6 months. My cocktail, the whipped potatoes and the bite I had of my friends' crackling pork dish also haunts my awake-and-hungry hours. We barely had to glance up to have the server at our table, they anticipated our every need (and the place wasn't empty!) so by the time we walked out of there the four of us were beautifully tipsy from cocktails, amazing food, and 60+ minutes of an amazing gastronomic adventure. You should go to this place, and sit, and enjoy, and meander out as happy as a sultry spring morning. (Yes, it's good enough to incite poetry!)
I love this place!

I love the atmosphere, real NewYorker, seems like a Woody Allen movie, few tourists.
Food: I normally get a big set of coquillage and a steak afterwards
Service: super-pro wiaters
I go there everytime I passed by NYC...
- Pros: Fantastic atmosphere, great food
- Cons: Any?
Best Bartenders In NYC
by nycgman
Forget about sitting at a table for dinner, sit at the bar. Donal and Colin are the best men you can have behind the stick. Great steak, great service and most important great booze. Managemnt is very professional and very accomadating to the customer base. Bottom line go there and you will not be dissappointed.
- Pros: Bartenders, and food
Incredible Wine Dinner
by moira713
Maloney & Porcellii has a great Weekend Wine Special where you pay $75, get a three course meal (off the menu not a prefix!) and get unlimited wine. They put 4 glasses (champagne, white and 2 reds) in front of you and fill up whatever you are drinking most frequently. I've gone 4 times now on Friday evenings with intimate parties or in large groups and every time I have been so pleased with the evening. My steak was cooked perfectly and the wines were really impressive. The waiters have always been honest and attentive which is appreciated.
This special is made for the 25-35 year old crowd in the city who would love to get a great steak dinner and a couple bottles of wine but can't afforfd to go for the $200+ each that it takes without such a great special.
- Pros: The Weekend Wine Dinner is incredible
- Cons: That the special is only on the weekends
Wonderful Friday Night.

There are a lot of steakhouses to choose from, but my friend heard about this thing at Maloney and Porcelli that is $75 for a 3 course meal, and then unlimited wine (there are 4 wines offered). I have to say that it was AMAZING. The food was wonderful, and the wine was great (and a lot of it at that!). I'll definetly be back again soon.
- Pros: $75 for a 3 course meal
- Cons: They only serve the 3 course meal at limited times.
Not up to Par

My steak was overdone.
Send it back you say?
I would have if anyone had stayed around to see if it was correct when delivered, or if anyone had come by soon to see if "everything is ok".
I won't be back.
Favorite restaurant just keeps getting better and better!

My friends and I have been going to this place for years, we have always enjoyed the Pork Shank and the Steaks! The service has always been friendly and the drinks are always top-notch. I was out of town for the summer and once I got back to NYC, the first place I wanted to head back to was Maloney & Porcelli. We made a reservation last Friday night, when we arrived we discovered that they now offer a "Wine Dinner" on the weekends - it's unbelievable, for $75.00 we got to select any appetizer, entree and dessert on the menu and along with that they free pour about four or five different types of wines with your meal! This was all included in the price! Hard to believe, my favorite place just keeps getting better. I think it's going to become our regular spot on the weekends!
An amazing night

We went to M&P last night with a group of friends for the $75 prix fix all-you-can-drink dinner and it was absolutely amazing. The food was great and the rib eye was one of the best cooked steaks I've ever had. The wines were great as well. Our server, Jason was friendly and funny and we had a great time with him. All in all, we'll deffinitely be back for the prix fix menu-- it's the best way to start off a great night.
- Pros: Steak, service, prix-fix
