I've been going there with my husband for awhile now and it doesn't get old. The food is amazing and the service is great. It's beautifully decorated as well. We've taken friends out for dinner there and they've all left impressed. Great place.

Pros: Food and service is outstanding

Cons: No complaints

My boyfriend took me here for our date night and I was so impressed. I had never been to La Grenouille, even though it is considered a classic NY restaurant, not to be missed. The interior was beautiful and the ambience was great.

we went for our annual special dinner with my wife. we had wanted to go to La Grenouille other years but we thought it would be very stuffy. we were pleasantly suprised all the staff was very friendly we decided to go for the pre theater menu which is about half of the the regular pre fixe. it has a limited selection, my wife a plate of mixed cold appetizer which was very nice i had a salad, she had the calves liver very tender and flavorfull i had the cod which was vey good all the different flavors melding perfectly for dessert we had one of the soufles and i had the oeufs la neige( floating islands )classic french dessert...we will go back again and it will be for lunch same price as the pre theater but more choices. the only negative i can say is that there are alot of supplement on the menu such as the soufles, this is a french restaurant..... try it for lunch or the pre theater..enjoy

Pros: great flower arrangements... wonderful service

Cons: pricey..too many supplements..go for lunch or pre theater

I went with my mother to this restaurant for a pre-theater meal and was thoroughly disappointed. The food was quite possibly the worst meal I've had in New York. It reminded me of eating at my university dorm. What was worse was that the restaurant was nearly empty and our every move was being watched by a slew of waiters. The sleazy head waiter kept loading extra food on us only to ask for a head waiter tip on top of the regular waiter tip at the end of the meal. How tacky is that? We have to tip for hospitality??? I've been to plenty of great French restaurants in NYC and France and this place poses as a French restaurant. PLEASE save yourself and do not go here!!!!!

Pros: Ambience

Cons: Extra head waiter tip

I took my mother to La Grenouille for her birthday last week. She was so impressed by the restaurant and was so excited when i took her there. The first thing that we noticed was the fresh flowers everywhere. it smelled like i walked into a garden. I had the beef and she had the cod. Everything was FANTASTIC. The wine lists was really extensive and being that my mother considers herself something of a wine connosiuer...she was impressed. Everything was wonderful, the staff was very attentive. they even wear white jackets!! I would absolutely reccomend this restaurant.

Pros: wine list and excellent food

Cons: none!

We really enjoyed our entire dining experience! The food went above and beyond and the attention to detail was greatly appreciated. Made our Wednesday night feel like a special occassion! I would highly recommend if you are looking to make a good impression or just enjoy really good food.

I have dined there a few times with my husband and our two daughters. Each time was better than the last. The food was superb, the ambiance (decor, flowers, lighting) gorgeous, and the service impeccable. I consider it to be my favorite restaurant in NY City. I would love to revisit for my birthday in December - last year it was wonderful to dine there around the holidays! I find the history of the building fascinating as well as the stories of old. Truly a dining adventure not to be missed if in the city.

Pros: Overall experience- superb!

Cons: Not one.

Not what it used to be...Definitely no longer worth those prices...Room is still great looking...Service could not be snootier...Starting from the entrance to the exit...The manager (owner?) is the worst offender...Too many other choices in NY...

This is definitely a special occasion spot, unless you don't mind a hefty bill, but rest assured that either way, it's well worth it. The great reviews certainly are there for a reason (and rightfully so). The dining room is always packed with fresh flowers; the smell is wonderful. The staff is very attentive and welcoming, and the waiters dance around you like their lives depend on it. As for the food, I suggest being brave and trying something you wouldn't normally eat. Sure, their steak is delicious, but when people around you order the oxtail, kidneys, or calf's liver, you'll be sorry you weren't more experimental (I made this mistake). Even though I was VERY happy with my steak, after trying the different dishes from others at my table, I wish I had opted for something more unique. This was truly an awesome dining experience.

Pros: Excelent Service, Breath-taking food, Fresh Flowers all over the dining room smell wonde

Cons: Very Expensive.
