Extraordinary!
by gbotts
We are a group of friends who have traveled extensively and eaten at great restaurants in the U.S. and Europe, and we thought this was one of our best experiences. We cannot imagine how other reviewers had a negative experience here. Every bite of food was truly delicious from the wafers and pea puree served with drinks to the appetizers to the heavenly pasta to the excellent entrees and scrumptious desserts. Staff was efficient and friendly, and even gave us a card which included printed information on the wonderful wines we had with dinner. We all had a very special time, and I tip my hat to Lidia and her team. I appreciate every detail being attended to as well as the concern for the highest quality food and service. Thanks and congratulations.
- Pros: Absolutely delicious food and great service
- Cons: Can't think of one
Best Italian in New York City!
by Hsmith1110
The most authentic and delicious Italian meal I've had outside of Italy. I enjoyed a great tasting menu along with a bottle of Lidia's wine. The staff was courteous and didn't rush us. I will definitely go back.
- Pros: Amazing wine list
A big letdown !

My son's girlfriend gave us a gift certificate to this resturant about 2 years ago.We live in Brooklyn and frequent all the greatest Italian eateries there. My wife is Italian as is her mother and father. My youngest son is 26 and a great cook.I have a passion for fabulous Italian food.My wife is the greatest cook in the world. She cooks all authentic Italian food and is also the greatest baker bar none.We were very excited to visit Felidias; we went for the special-value three course dinner menu. Her TV show is very good and we have all watched it for years.
Now the review....her wait staff is not knowlegeable, especially about the value menu .... her food was the worst I've ever had.....and the minimalist desert was a disaster. It left my lips swollen and my stomach with cramps.WHERE IS THIS AN ITALIAN RESTURANT ? Nothing Italian there. The biggest disapointment ever.Visited on 02/17/09
- Pros: nothing
- Cons: Not Italian over rated .Lidia, have you cooks watch your show.
Fantastic Italian

One word: AMAZING! I had the most incredible meal with my husband here last week. We feasted on the freshest Crudo I've had in years and then enjoyed a tasting of their homemade pastas. We indulged and ordered a shaving of the black winter truffle over our porcini tagliatelle- I can?t tell you how delicious it was! My husband is from Umbria and he said the flavors brought him back to his childhood. We were made to feel at home at home with perfect but non intrusive service. This is our new special place.
Inaccurate information on website
by MS0701
I visited Felidia last night for the first time. While the food was okay, it was not spectacular. The menu was overpriced and the service pushy. My biggest complaint is that their website advertises menu items that ARE NOT available in the restaurant! For those prices, a mistake like that is inexcusable. They need to update their website. Overall, it was a poor experience and I won't return.
Treat Women Badly
by JuliaMG
I had a reservation for about a month at Felidia, I was taking my editor to celebrate my new book deal. When we arrived, even though the restaurant had 5 empty tables, We were told we could sit by the kitchen door or next to the chafing dish where they deboned the fish. When I asked the maitre d about the other tables, the very curt reply was that they were all reserved. We finally sat next the work station. The waiter was unfriendly and the table was extremely uncomfortable for three people. Even though this restaurant is owned by a women, all the women who entered without a male companion were given lousy tables and the couples or men alone were given the nice spots. The food was quite good but not worth the attitude of everyone who served us. I have been to many restaurants in NY and quite like trying different chefs, but I have never been treated as badly. I will not go back.

- Pros: Thumbs down Rude and pretentious attitude
Best Italian in NYC

People who pan Felidia's food don't understand good cooking. Only the freshest seasonal ingredients are employed in simple, elegant preparations that reveal their full flavor. The homemade pasta is finished tableside, which only adds to the freshness. I also shared a Japanese organic salmon for two, and we both agreed it was as good as any fish we'd ever had anywhere in the US, Asia or Europe. Highly recommended.
- Pros: menu/wine list/ambience/staff
Totally Amazing!
by lmclaw
I went to the dinner at Felidia last night and had the most AMAZING dinner. They had local farmers in from upstate NY who brought local produce and meats. It was the freshest food I had ever tasted. Everything was just really perfect. I spent a lot of time talking to the wine director who gave me some really great tips on picking wines that will pair with food. I thought for sure that he would try to sell me the most expensive bottle but he didn't he recommended the most delicious wine I believe it was from their owners label and it was under $40. Perfect first experience at Felidia I will definitely be back.
- Pros: Food and wine
What a mess! Eat anywhere else!!!
by jp100
The worst!
The servers stood around, talking and looking at themselves in the mirror. The salad was a disgrace, a bag of frisee with other vegetables to be seen. I would have settled for an olive in there. The pasta had to be sent back, it had a funny, sour taste, not the diablo sauce I ordered. All in all, a nightmare and not a cheap one. I will never go back and would warn anyone else to stay away.
- Pros: Nice woodwork
- Cons: Everything else
