DON'T GO !!!!

by JoeNorthEnd at Citysearch

This place is horrible!! And that this being nice. Anybody that writes anything different is either a moron or they have a personal gain with this dump. You had flies all over the place !!! The service area was a mess with spilled and dirty items all over the place. This place needs to be closed by the NYC Restaurant Inspectors!!! It is criminal that this place is allowed to operate. Then to add insult, they charge you a la carte for everything. Don't be fooled by the picture. DON'T GO!!!!! I put a one star because a star was required. Truthfully, this place deserves negative stars !!!

horrible

Do not eat here, the food was horrible - the waiters were so rude - very dirty and unkept establishment. McDonalds serves a better burger for 1/10 the price. Burgers not cooked to order - served how they want to serve - french fries - cooked in dirty greasy oil. Complain to the owner working the register - he is too busy counting all the money he makes from unlucky people who mistakenly dined at his diner. Also as we were leaving another unsatisfied patron leaving told us he noticed that they store the buns in the male restroom.

Former Midtown coffee shop continues to serve breakfast fare in addition to sandwiches and juicy burgers for lunch and dinner.

diner like food, non-remarkable burger, yucky onion rings

by daveng at Citysearch

This place is pretty diner-ish, which is nice if you are looking for a non-chic place. The burger was a generic looking burger - plain bun with melted american and iceberg lettuce - and was decent but non-remarkable, probably slightly better than your average diner burger. The service was pretty slow - it took a while for the food to come after our order was placed - maybe about 10 minutes. I also ordered the onion rings, or, as described on the menu "french fried onions" - terrible. Fried onions with bits of oil sogged batter - really disgusting.

  • Pros: diner decor, adult high chairs, non-chic, pretty cheap
  • Cons: side orders were pretty bad, service was slow

Wonderful!

by nycreviewer23 at Citysearch

Great burger, fries, staff ... the works! Amazingly cheap for NYC ... my friends and I all concurred that it definitely was one of the tastiest burgers around! Very quick service ... no hassle ... wait staff attentive and efficient.

Wonderful place to stop and have a quick, tasty bite!

  • Pros: Fast service, Tasty food

Good Value!

by FairWinds at Citysearch

Great to see that this branch is still open after the closing of the flagship in Watseka, Illinois. A "best value" for midtown breakfast and lunch. Standard diner fare served under the WCHS maroon and white banners. Customers here, however, do not stare.

Step into the past

The Prime Burger is an unpretentious, 1930s-style lunch counter that serves very good, very basic food. Their home-made relish is the perfect complement to the delicious, definitely NOT low-fat, beef patties.

The coffee and pies are worth saving room for, too.

A plain burger is $3.50; grilled cheese sandwich $3.95; side of fries, $2.10. The Primeburger Deluxe (two burgers plus fries) will run you $7.50. The atmosphere, including waiters wearing white jackets and black bow ties, is priceless. There are plenty of seats at the long counter, booths in the back, and an unusual communal seating area for lone diners featuring seats with fold-down desktop tables.

A great place for a homemade food at fast food prices.
