Good hotel in NY by Dan T. at InsiderPages

I stayed at the Fitzpatrick for a business trip into Manhattan. The hotel was nice but the rooms were quite small. Nicely decorated though, and the staff was very nice.
A Dublinesque delight for fun-loving travelers.

The Scene
Irish hospitality and history give spirit to this Midtown hotel, which is owned and operated by the Fitzpatrick family. Step in from Lexington Avenue and you'll find yourself in a kelly green lobby with Waterford chandeliers and fresh flowers.
The Details
The 92 rooms and suites are quietly elegant with Chippendale furnishings and floral-printed bedspreads. Room amenities include all the basics. VCRs and exercise bicycles are available on request, and guests have free use of a fitness center nearby. Fitzers restaurant serves Irish specialties (oak-smoked salmon and chicken in an Irish whiskey sauce). The traditional Irish breakfast, which is served all day, is legendary and includes Irish bacon and sausage, black-and-white pudding and brown soda bread. The bar has some rare Irish whiskies, plus occasional Irish musical entertainment. Big surprise: the staff is mostly Irish, and so are the newspapers offered by the hotel.
a hearty Irish welcome

We have stayed in several NYC hotels' while visiting the city and this one is without doubt one of the best! The welcome we received was parallel to that in Dublin and the staff were ALL accomodating and helpful. The rooms were wonderful, we stayed in a suite which was spacious and very luxurious. There are a host of amenities to make your stay more welcoming and even in the madness of Lexington Ave this was a little bit of paradise. Would recommend EVERY time.
