Lovely Mother's Day Stay

by WendyTz

For Mother's Day this year my kids got me more than breakfast in bed. They gave me a relaxing evening at this charming hotel. It was a great way to get away without going far from home.

Doesn't get any better then this folks

by gimelect

Where do i begin?? from the perfect location to the rooms or the wonderful staff that goes the extra mile to make your stay one to remember, I couldn't find much wrong with this hotel...even when i looked under the bed!!!. The staff members are extemely kind and know how to make you feel like a millionaire. Asim, Chris and Matt took care of all my arrangements from show tickets, cars, and restaurants... that saved me alot of time. The managers John Avina and Trevor Boerger were easily accesible and willing to help, they have trained their staff to follow their lead. I really enjoy this hotel and hope that you will as well.

A luxurious European country inn---in convenient midtown Manhattan.

by Sandra Ramani

The Scene
Built in 1926 and recently renovated, this elegant yet eclectic European-style hotel has been both home and playground to countless personalities; Joe DiMaggio, Maria Callas, Jimmy Breslin and Tallulah Bankhead were all regulars, and Tenneesee Williams spent fifteen years in the "Sunset" suite. Rooms have names instead of numbers, with one-of-a-kind décor and whimsical touches to match (many boast kitchens, fireplaces, terraces or solariums.) Though the downstairs Monkey Bar is famous for first-dates and bachelor outings, the hotel's warm, intimate feel and charming, unobtrusive staff make it perfect for romantic getaways or travelers yearning for a unique experience.

The Details
The lobby sparkles with black-and-white marble floors and mahogany walls; upstairs, the 101 guest rooms are done-up in country-French furnishings with Italian marble bathrooms. Guests enjoy complimentary continental breakfast, afternoon tea, bottled water all-day and weekday wine and hors d'oeuvres in the Club Room.

Best Small Luxury Hotel in the City

by yaelw

The Hotel Elysee is a little jewel of a hotel. I loved the décor and the free breakfast and wine and cheese reception in the club room and I appreciate the incredible service from all the staff. They exude an easy happy efficiency. For just a bit extra they offered to upgrade me and my sister to a junior suite and we felt like a princesses all week!

  • Pros: Free Breakfast, Free Internet, Free Wine and Cheese

Loved our Stay!

by jodiwild

I just finished a five-night stay with my two children, and we were very, very pleased with the accommodations, the service, and the location. The hotel is a short walk to Rockefeller Center, Times Square, and Central Park, and the neighborhood contains upscale shopping and restaurants. We enjoyed the hotel's continental breakfast. Our room was comfortable and immaculately clean, and we never heard any street noise or the other guests. We'll be back!!

  • Pros: Ambience/Small Size, Location, Service

Dusty Gem

by CarlaCT

My husband and I spent three blissful days in NY and four nights at the hotel Elysse. It was very nice not to pay $30 for continental breakfast each morning, and the evening wine reception was a pleasant surprise. Although in need or some renovation the rooms are large and comfortable. I graded service as sketchy because the head concierge forgot to make our dinner reservations and get us our 'Producers' tickets. What really irked me was her excuse. "We were really busy down here", seemed hardly professional, and even less true since we made the request a day prior. In all the Elysee is a great spot. Keep an eye on the rates as they fluctuate erratically. We got a great one!

  • Pros: Location, Room Size, Free Breakfast/Wine
  • Cons: Spacedout Concierge

European Charm in New York City

by tboerger

Exceedingly comfortable with a marvelous staff. The Club Room which serves complementary breakfast in the morning and wine in the early evening is lush and inviting. We have stayed in suites and regular rooms (there are no "regular" rooms). Each is unique and well appointed. We recommend The Elysee to all of our friends.

  • Pros:  the rooms, the staff, the location

Awesome Hotel!

by msmadeline

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was in an excellent location. We loved the size of the room and it was clean and well organized. We especially enjoyed the H&H Bagels for breakfast and the cheese and wine in the afternoon was excellent. There were numerous choices of good cheeses as well as crackers, nuts, fruit, bread etc. For those celebrating they offer champagne as well. The staff was prompt with questions and with requests. We look forward to going back!!!

cCty Sophistication

by heilig

The Elysee Hotel is warm and wonderful with a great desk person who made us feel as welcome as if we were returning home. Every question was answered intelligently and with sincereity.

We particularly enjoyed your breakfasts and your late afternoon drinks and hors 'doeuvres. So relaxing after a stressful day. Also like the appearance of the hotel and the rooms - very welcoming.
