Sunshine on a Rainy Day!
by fancyfreeme
I am a regular client of Pierre Michel Salon. I travel down from the 'mid-hudson valley' for my cuts, and have my color done locally. My hair is shoulder length, layered and highlighted. When I learned my regular stylist at Pierre Michel no longer had hours that could accommodate my schedule, I decided to make an appointment with Sean. My appointment just happened to fall on a very RAINY day in February, and I feared I would leave only to have my new hairstyle drenched and disheveled, without ever making it back home to enjoy. But I was determined to meet with Sean, no matter what the weather! When I arrived, I was literally drenched from the downpour. As usual, the front desk was courteous and attentive, and the transition to a better day began. I settled down on the comfortable couch, and was promptly approached by Lane, Sean's assistant, who offered me a drink of my choice. My wait was short. Before Lane washed my hair, Sean called me over to introduce himself, get a look at my hair, and talk about what I wanted to do. He was warm and welcoming. My day was getting better. After the consultation, Lane proceeded to shampoo my hair with what I would call a 'reiki' touch......very slow, soothing and relaxing, an excellent job. After the shampoo, Sean was ready to tackle my hair. As he cut, he made very thoughtful suggestions on color and conditioning, which made sense to me. He took his time and slowly cut each section to precision. While he dried my hair, I closed my eyes, feeling very confident in his work. When he finished, my hair looked fabulous, free flowing and natural. I loved it! As I stepped outside, to my relief, the rain had subsided, and I left proudly displaying my 'new' hair. But the best testament to a new haircut is how it looks the next morning....when you wake up. Well, I am happy to say, it still looked fabulous! So, sometimes when things look dreary, a rainbow can appear! I look forward to continuing with Sean, no matter what the weather! The only downside is, with such a beautiful cut, it may be a while before I see him again. But that's a problem I can live with!
I Look Forward to Getting My Hair Done ......

LUDOVIC @ Pierre Michel is fabulous! Painted on blond highlights that look like Ive been on Nantucket for the summer!! Natural and complimentary to my skin tone. I have very wavy/curly hair that I also wear straight, as well as part it both in the middle or on either side. No matter. With his fabu highlighting, it looks like its been kissed by the sun. He's professional and easy going. Love him!
Words Dont Even Begin to Describe How AWFUL!
by NYC Enthusiast
First of all, i have never been to a place with such stuck up employees. From the moment i walked in it was difficult to even get someone to look my way, much less speak to me. The haircut was ok, but for the price...OK. The worst part of this salon is the Owner, Pierre. The worst attitude of any owner i have ever seen. If you're looking for a good Salon experience, avoid this place at all costs. There are too many salon in new york for this one to treat its customers like dirt.
Get ready for the compliments
by Babs L
Through the years, my hairstyle as well as color has changed many times. The one thing that
hasn't changed is who does my hair. Allison Gandolfo is the consumate professional.
Always informative and educated with the newest products and trends tailored just for me.
She is "down to earth" and a joy to talk to. In the time it takes to realize why you came to her
in the first place, you are transformed once again and look forward to the compliments
you are sure to receive. Babs L.
Fantastic Colorist
by Barbara Detrich
After years of bad experiences at many of the supposed "best" and certainly the most expensive salons, I finally discoved Allison Gandolfo. A friend had a beautiful buttery blond color so I asked for her colorst, who was Allison. I'm brunette with highlights & lowlights and consistently get compliments. No orange color, no ashiness just perfect all the time. I referred several friends to Allison who are all as pleased as i am. BD
- Pros: Allison Gandolfo, Colorist
best highlights ever
by MeganAnn82
I have been a loyal client of Allisons for years, my hair is my favorite accessory. she takes my drab natural dark blonde hair and makes me feel like a movie star, i get stopped constantly on the streets asking where i go, the compliments are endless, I travel all the way from Philly to see her, just to get her expert hair painting technique. The best thing about Allison besides the obvious amazing color is how great she makes you feel in her chair, very confortable and relaxed no matter how busy she is you always feel like the only one in the salon.
- Pros: allison gandolfolo

Allison G - The Best Colorist in NYC
by scubadiver66
I have been going to Allison Gandolfo for almost 7 years to have my blonde highlights done. Time and time again I have been stopped on streets, in airports, at parties and everywhere you can think of by women (and other colorists!!!!) asking me "who does your hair, it's gorgeous and so natural looking". I actually have people believing that my hair looks like this naturally. Just today I had my haircut at another very well known, high end salon and was again told what a great job she had done. He told me that he was going to send some of his clients to her. Can you imagine an owner sending business away from his own salon somewhere else????? Enough said! Go to Allison for color, you won't be disappointed, I promise!.
- Pros: Gorgeous Blonde Highlights
- Cons: None

Dror@Pierre Michel
by EmmaZ
I recently moved to New York and was on a desperate search for a new stylist. Upon the advise of a few of my girlfriends, I decided to go to Dror @Pierre Michel. The salon, which is on the third floor-so New York i love it!!! is beautiful and upscale but NOT snoby .Dror was amazing. In our consultation I explained to him that my has always been unruley and difficult to manage, and that i wanted something fun and fashionable. Dror advised me to get a brazillian blowout as well as his vision for my hair and I agreed. I can not believe the phenominal job he did. My hair has never looked so luxurious and felt so soft, and the cut AMAZING. All I have to say is this guy is truely an artist .
Donna Hernandez is a color GENIUS
by simr
To sum it up: Donna Hernandez is a genius. Seriously. Once she understands what you are looking for, she truly delivers. My highlights look fantastic! You cannot imagine how many people have asked me who does my color..... she's that good! But more than that, she is a fantastic person, and truly a pleasure to work with. she makes sure you are completely satisfied before you leave the salon, and is genuinely gracious. I cannot say enough good things. Suffice it to say, I am a customer for life. I have been to Rita Hazan, Salon Pahshah, and Roy Teeluck but Donna's skill surpasses every other colorist i have seen, Highly recommend!
- Pros: amazing highlights!
