Strong Sales Pitch

I went to this practice for a cleaning and they found no cavities. They then tried to sell me on whitening and some cosmetic work. I explained that I wasn't in the market for either but they were incredibly persistent. They made me feel bad about myself and almost convinced me that I needed the work. I did not appreciate the pressure they applied in trying to sell me these things and walked out lacking confidence about the appearance of my teeth - something I never had a problem with before.

Awfull practice - HIGHWAY ROBBERY

I noticed in one review someone mentioned that they try to "up sell"in this practice. That's a huge understatement. I went for an appointment with Dr. Jennifer Martin who seemed more than competent. She examined my x-rays and told me I would need a lot of work done. Then she came in with my treatment plan which ran almost 25k. I was in total shock. I had just had a significant amount of work two years prior and didn't understand how I could need that much additional work. As she walked me through the plan I stated that I didn't think I could afford that price and they told me I could apply for credit and it would "only" come to $900 a month. As I checked out they asked me for a $7,000 deposit on the future work and I said I would need to think on it. The treatment plan said I would have to make FOURTEEN visits and there was no option to pay for the work done at each appt. I've never had to prepay - every dentisit I've been to has let me pay as I go. They said they needed 19k before do anything - this really does nothing to establish a trust with the paitent. I felt incredibly pressured. They kept telling me the patient comes first but to me it seemed like the paitents money came first. I took her treatment plan to THREE additional dentists and all three of them (one was a family friend) said not only did I not need the amount of work she was suggesting but the prices that she was proposing were outrageous. For example work on ONE tooth which included a root canal had a total of $4,250. I've had root canals before and they were never close to that price. Along with numerous procedures, she said I needed two extractions and implants. I had another dentist work on my teeth and not only did he save the teeth she said needed to be removed the prices were reasonable. I'm sure she's a fine dentist but the aggressive way in which they approach their patients and request such a large payment without giving you a day or so to think it over is disgusting.

A reliable dentist

Dr. Lhota is sensible and low-key in his approach and has assembled an excellent support staff in his office. It's a pleasant place to visit and one comes away feeling well-cared for.

Best Dentist I Have Ever been to!!!!!!

I have been to many Dental offices, and could never find the right one. I work and go to school and could never find a dentist that can work around my scedule. The hours they have avaliable are so convient for me. I had an emergency because I had bad tooth pain, and I called. The staff was so nice to me, and wanted to help me. I got there and everyone was so willing to help me and make me feel better. They took care of me first and worried about the money later. That was great to see that the were more concerned about me then my money.

I will continue to go to this dentist and they are just great.

No-pain my arse

I was told to arrive half an hour prior to my actual appointment in order to fill out 5 minutes worth of paper work. I was called for my appointment 8 minutes late. I waited 41 minutes! I went in for a cleaning and they tried to upsell me an x-ray. The technician administering the cleaning promised me a "pain-free" experience. The cleaning was intolerably painful and i attempted to leave when they tried to coheres me to stay. I had to sternly request for the chair to be raised so i could depart.

Warm Atmosphere combined with Execllent Patient Service

I have been seeing Dr. Lhota and team for two years and I am consistently impressed with their professionalism, warm reception, bedside manner and excellent customer service. All health care providers should take lessons from this office.

I worked for the Walt Disney Company for many years and am often left with expectations unmet at retailers, events and at other doctor's offices- however not here. The team at Central Park West Dentistry are phenomenal. Whether it is regular dental check-ups or more involved root canals- Drs. Martin and Lipner are both fantastic and the front desk staff could not be more friendly.

The Best Dentist Visit of all time!

My experience with Dr. Lhota was beyond award-winning. Talk about pulling out the red carpet! Tatiana, the receptionist at the front desk was very considerate and kind. She is hard not to like, every dentist office needs someone like her. Sometimes but not all the time, how your visit turns out starts with the receptionist. Tatiana could make anyone's day better. I couldn't believe what i was witnessing. Anyway, i originally went in for a Snap On Smile but Dr. Lhota recommended a bleaching treatment. That was the best treatment for exactly what i needed. The Snap On Smile would have been less effective; so we went with a Lumineers Bleach Whitening treatment instead. It will be more effective in the long run and cost less as well. Dr. Lhota toke his time and went through different options because he noticed that the Snap On Smile wouldn't do the job that i needed. The other dentists that i went to literally rushed me out the room, but not Dr. Lhota! He made sure all the cards were on the table, nothing was rigged, he was very honest with me and i like that about a person. I will be returning to the office to start treatment on my teeth, hope all goes swell:-) Check out Dr. Lhota and his staff with your seat belt securely fastened..., because they will blow you away with thier service. If there was ever an Oscar Award for the best Dentist Team, these guys should get it. I am surprised they aren't well known or a household name yet, they are the real deal in the Upper West Side folks!!!

Love my dentist

I was referred to Dr. Martin over 5 years ago and continue to return to her office even after moving out of state. Personable and upbeat, her assessments are efficient, yet thorough. The fillings she has done for me have lasted beautifully. Her dental hygienist never misses a spot, and I leave with a bright smile and teeth that actually look bigger. The staff is delightful, always prepared to update my records, call my insurance company, and figure estimates. I even received a call that they could see me at an earlier date! The wait is never more than a 5 minutes. The entire CPW Dentistry experience makes me look forward to taking care of my teeth.

Staff is great with children

Our 3 year old son recently visited Dr. Lhota's office for a check up. Our son was reluctant to get into the chair in the exam room, but Dr. Lhota and his staff were very patient with him, and they found creative ways to get him comfortable with the equipment and the check up process. By the end of the visit, our son was telling us that the trip to Dr. Lhota's was 'fun' and 'awesome.' I couldn't be more pleased with their approach.

Clean, Professional, Knowledgeable & Friendly!

I found Central Park West Dentistry on-line and made an appointment. The woman, Heidi who made my appointment for me was very friendly on the phone. I needed my teeth cleaned and maintenance on my porcelain veneers. When I got to the office I noticed it was very clean, the staff was very professional and very attentive to my needs. They also realized I was nervous, but made me feel comfortable.The hygienists are very knowledgeable and patient. The dentist, Dr. John F. Lhota is also very knowledgeable and took time to speak with me about what procedure I needed in order to have healthy gums and teeth. The time he took to speak with me gave me a good feeling about letting him work on my veneers. I would definitely recommend CPW Dentistry over all other dentists!
