For me, having a facial is a ritual priority for me. I’ve been getting facials once a month since I’m 16. Georgette Klinger used to be my favorite, I went there for 30 years, however sadly they are no longer in business. When they finally did close their doors I wanted to find a spa that had similarities to Georgette Klinger. I had heard that Lia Schorr had worked there for 7 years before opening her own salon. Eugenia, who has been at Lia Schorr for over 22 years, attended to me. She was excellent, soft spoken, well mannered, and she really knows skin. She provided a thorough analysis on my skin & then got to work on my face. She massage my neck & shoulders, as well as my face. The massage was lovely. She them steamed my face to open up my pores & performed a lot of extractions for a very lone time. She’s so thorough! She then applied two masks. It was then that she suggested that I undergo an oxygen treatment as well. I was in heaven with my skin. It looked & felt clean, glowing & fresh. I am now a steady customer for life! I would gladly recommend the Lia Schorr Day Spa to anyone looking for the absolute BEST in skin care in town.

I remember a time when you told your friends that you went to Canyon Ranch, they all knew what you were speaking of. However, now in this hard economy I can’t afford the luxury of Canyon Ranch anymore. My husband lost his job, we have two children, we are extremely tight economically, BUT, I still feel the need to keep pampering myself through the service of a good day spa, especially in these tight, tense times. A friend of mine had recommended the Lia Schorr Day Spa, as it has been in business for over 27 years. She told me not to expect the quintessential luxury & serenity of Canyon Ranch, but that Lia Schorr’s is clean, simple, elegant, and provides the highest quality service you can find. The owner is charming and always there to assist you in any way that you may need. The professionals who have been on staff for over 20 years are very loyal & hardworking. The prices beat all the other spa’s around as well. You get the best deals & services money can buy in these trying & tight economic times. I booked an appointment and when I arrived I loved the establishment immediately. What a nice environment & a nice place, providing the utmost professionalism. I had a facial, massage, manicure & pedicure. I paid much less than I had ever paid in the “exclusive, high-end” spas in the past. I could definitely afford this, even in these tight times. My husband actually decided to join me as well, as Lia specializes in men’s skin care. I will be here every month as long as these great services and prices remain the same!

My husband and I are busy executives who never have time for our selves. Our children had just visited the Lia Schorr Day Spa and had raved about it. Therefore, for Mother’s & Father’s Day they decided to treat us to a spa day. It took a lot of convincing, but finally I was able to force my husband to take a day off. We had so much fun! What lovely and professional people they have on staff there. They are very well trained, so it was no wonder that we received fabulous results. My pedicure was incredible, my feet never felt so clean! The massage was to die for even my “Type A” husband was completely relaxed. And the facial left my skin looking and feeling flawless with the best results I’ve ever had! We had brought some champagne and hors d’oeuvres with us to enhance the experience, and it was very special. We felt warm and giddy and we so enjoyed the pampering we received.

For Father’s Day, my children gave me a gift certificate to The Lia Schorr Day Spa. I waited almost a full year to redeem it because, to tell you the truth, I really believed that guys like me didn’t need facial treatments. I was totally surprised to learn how little I actually knew about this world! Not only did my skin feel great, but I had a lot of fun as well. I was very impressed with my facialist and the way that she treated my skin. This guy will now be getting regular facials for the rest of his life!

Tammy, the Manicure/Pedicure/Waxing Tech at Lia Schorr is simply the BEST! I chose to have all three services done during one appointment, and not only was Tammy super sweet and caring, she was ultra professional and competent for each service. My manicure came out perfect, my hands look gorgeous, and it hasn’t chipped not even a bit in the week since I had it done. The pedicure, oh my, the pedicure, was pampering at its finest. My feet are now smooth as satin soft, not tired at all, and ready to take full advantage of sandal season. I’m really not much of a fan of feet but Tammy has since changed that. I’m proud to flaunt my gorgeous tootsies now. I was so impressed with the service I received that I didn’t think it could get any better, until it was time for my waxing. I’m generally a nervous person when it comes to waxing being that it can be painful, and also a bit embarrassing due to the fact that it takes place on a private area of my body. But again, Tammy dispelled any fears I had with her caring & competency. Not only did she talk me through the whole process, taking my mind off of any discomfort I felt, but it was virtually painless as well. The results were smooth skin with no unsightly redness or bumps which I had experienced in the past. Tammy is truly a gem in her field. Because of her, I am totally summer ready, sandals, bikini & all!

I have a very hectic schedule but I was determined to fit in a massage for myself during Spa Week. I figured for a $50 massage I could reorganize my time a bit. I chose the Lia Schorr Spa because it is very close to my job and I was able to fit in the appointment on my lunch hour. When I arrived I was quite stressed as I had just had a meeting with a very difficult client, and I was really in need of some release. I had a Hot Stone massage and it was divine. The masseuse, Michelle has magical hands. She was able to get all the knots out of my stressed out body, which is no small feat! I walked out of that room feeling refreshed, renewed, & relaxed, ready to take on my next client with renewed zeal. I would highly recommend Michelle to anyone in need of some stress release. She now has a loyal client for life!

I love Spa Week! Every year I wait for April to roll around so that I may enjoy some pampering at a discount. I also use Spa Week in hopes of finding myself that one day spa that I may call home for the rest of the year. This year, I decided to give The Lia Schorr Day Spa a try. They were offering a special for a 70 minute European Deep Pore Cleansing Facial with Extractions. Oh my god, it was worth every penny, heck I would’ve paid full price it was so good. The facial was very thorough, my skin never felt cleaner, AND, I was left with no redness, blotchiness, or irritation. That for me was the clincher since I have such fair & sensitive skin. Not only did I see fantastic results, I was so relaxed during the process that I even fell asleep! I am so so happy because now I really do have a place to go to for the rest of the year!
Pros: Best Facial Ever

I went to the Lia Schorr spa during Spa week in which they offered $50 facial specials but at the end of the day, I ended up spending $200! The owner, Lia Schorr is not very warm nor welcoming to her clientele. She is curt and reminds me of Meryl Streep in The Devil Wears Prada. I felt like if I only went there for the $50 Spa week facial, I should be embarassed. As far as the facility itself, I was not impressed. It looked like a doctor's office. Old and outdated. The rooms are tiny, and if you think you're facialist will be in the room with you the entire time, they won't. Though my facialist, Eugenia did a great job, (I came out glowing, had no irritation, dryness, or patchy skin). She will sweet talk her way into your wallet so beware. A kind "No thank you" will suffice. I left my trust in her to take care of my skin. She diagnosed it by adding additional extras to my facial which added to my bill! A seaweed mask, take home face wash and mask added $150 to the $50 facial. Though I did see good results, I was disappointed with the service. Eugenia kept leaving the room tending to other clients simultaneously. It was noisy, not peaceful and though I did like the results of my facial, Eugenia didn't give me her full attention. They do seem to only care more about $$$. I don't think I'd ever come back.
Pros: Eugenia
Cons: Lia is intimidating, facialist leaves room, sales pressure, not peaceful, outdated venue

No matter what I put on my body, my skin always feels DRY, DRY, DRY. I’ve tried so many over the counter products such as lotions, oils, and creams, but to no avail. I’d still have alligator skin. One day I was reading an article in which the Lia Schorr Day Spa was mentioned & this article referenced how body scrubs can help combat chronic dryness. The article was about how dry our skin can get from environmental factors such as clothing, vitamin deficiencies, dry heat, air conditioning, pools, soaps, etc. I was curious about how the aforementioned body scrubs worked so I booked myself an appointment, as I felt I had nothing to lose. My body technician listened to my story and also agreed that my skin was excessively dry. She suggested a lot of fluid intake to keep myself hydrated from the inside out. She then proceeded to give me my treatment. She created a mixture of refined sea scrub with special oil to slough off all the dead skin cells, and exfoliated my skin for about 20 minutes. She then used avocado oil to seal in the moisture after exfoliating. I must say I was quite astounded at how smooth & supple my skin felt. No more alligator skin for me, I now feel like a porcelain doll!

I found the service here to be very prompt, which in this busy day & age is an all but too rare occurrence. The spa itself is very low key, which I liked. The peach and light yellow color scheme looks very appealing, immediately conveying a sense of lightheartedness and calm. The décor is rather quite simple which further generates this sense. Being here is a surefire way to always make me feel nice & relaxed. It’s a gem of a place for some great professional pampering. I always receive so many compliments after I have a facial done here, and I hear quite a lot of remarks about how my skin looks a lot younger than it should at my age. Coming here always makes me feel so good about myself & that feeling persists long after I even walk out the door.
