Don't Bother

I am not the usual guy who writes reviews.. but BUYER BEWARE!!! I found a piece of metal in my food! There are too many places in the city to settle for this one. Waiter was pretentious, other at my table had mixed reviews on their meal. They offer a unlimited drink special... sounds like a lst resort... don't bother wit this place.

oh and PS- the bathrooms were out of hand towels... so how does the staff dry their hands?!?!?! hello nasty!

Never Again!!! Asked to Leave?

I went to this place with a few friends and after we ordered, our food came out not more than 5 minutes later. The food (Eggs Benedict) was just ok. We then paid the check and a few of my friends went to the rest room and we were sitting chatting for a few minutes and the waiter came over to us and asked "if we were leaving soon because they had a lot of people to serve and we had already paid our bill." Between the time we sat down and the time the waiter asked us to leave was no more than 40 minutes. I have never in my life been asked to leave a restaurant nor had anyone else at the table. Absolutely unacceptable and will never consider going back.

HORRIBLE service and cleanliness

I wanted to try Arte Cafe because of the great drink/brunch deal. Immediately after placing our drink order the largest raoch (they won't let me write r*ach) i have ever seen was crawling on the wall next to us. We politely told the waitress not to cause a stir. The manager came, called it a waterbug, and ignored us. HORRIBLE place to go.

Service is HORRIBLE...manager apathetic and rude.

The service was atrocious. We were seated in the back of the restaurant, and there was only one waiter servicing the entire room. He rushed us through our ordering. He hardly visited the table. We spoke to the manager three times and he was very rude and did not care about the situation. Several tables around us were also fed up with the service and were gettting up to grab their own condiments. I did that as well. The servers were very rude when we asked for help. We received "what else!" and "that's not my job, tell your waiter." very very very rude staff. I used to frequent this restuarant...but I will NEVER go back

• Pros: The food is delicious
• Cons: horribly rude manager. understaffed waiters, stressed out servers, very rude, had to get up five times for service, sat for 20 minutes before anyone came over to table.

Pricey

Good food, great service, kind of pricey. The wait staff and the wall hangings made me feel like I was in Ireland. Very busy on the night we decided to go. The Mousse Di Cioccolato was just ok....I'll probably not order it again. The wait staff made it sound like their specialty!

Beautiful Garden

Arte Cafe is one of my new favorite places... I agree that some of the staff can be a little rude (hostesses...will tell you the garden is full when it isnt)... but if you can look past that, the food is great and the atmosphere is fantastic. The space is huge so it doesnt get too too bad for brunch...and if you get a cool server then the all you can drink brunch is a deal (if not, you'll end up with one drink for $12...which still isnt that bad).

WHY IS THIS PLACE STILL IN BUSINESS ???

Sloppy, Slapdash, tired, terrible.

Food: A Million Better Places That Serve The Same and MUCH better.

Service: People Arguing in Spanish on the floor while they ignore your table

Ambiance: Thrown together and cheap

Read most of the positive reviews carefully, it's obvious that they are SHILLS.

Nothing "ARTE" about it.

YUCK.

Insect In Food + Harrassment = Never Going Back

This restaurant is in one word: embarrassing. Let me tell you why... I went here last night with my boyfriend and my cousin who was visiting from England. To start, we sat down at a table that was nearly toppling over. After a half hearted attempt to fix it, our waitress sighed and begrudgingly asked us if we wanted to move. We did, and then for the next ten minutes watched the tables on either side of us served while we were ignored. Next my Carpaccio was served with an insect the size of my fingernail crawling on top as a garnish. After I received another Carpaccio when everyone else was done eating, we ordered coffee, and asked for the bill. I was shocked to see that we had been charged for the Carpaccio. I questioned our waitress about this who said she had told the chef, and that he said that he would never have served a dish with an insect on it. Oh! So I must have been hallucinating? Understandably at this point we were ready to leave, and my cousin was kind enough to offer to pick up the bill. He asked my boyfriend and I what we thought would be a suitable tip. Knowing that we would normally give around 20%, we thought that for the service (or rather lack there of) that we were provided, 15% would be more than fair. As we exited the restaurant we were accosted by our waitress who berated my cousin for his tip, explaining that "in THIS country, you have to give at least 18%". Interesting! After ignoring our table all evening, she was obviously quick enough to grab the check at the end of the night before we were even out the door, proving that she was certainly capable of fast service, but just not during the course of our meal. Needless to say, this was incredibly embarrassing for me, having chosen the restaurant for a nice meal with my cousin. After we walked my cousin toward his hotel, we went back to talk to the manager about our experience. He too seemed about as concerned that our night was ruined as our harassing waitress was.

Arte Cafe!!!!!!!

I don't get the last 2 reviews. I've been going to Arte Cafe for years. Delicious food, nice atmosphere and very attentive service. I wouldn't call myself a regular so the service isn't special due to that fact. I've just always had very good service. Besides that, I find the food to be tasty, fresh and served in a timely manner. To each his own. I really like Arte Cafe.

Makes you feel like a peasant

a good friend and i went to have lunch here, expecting it to be a friendly cafe environment. instead we were brashly greeted at the door by a hostess who was dressed provocatively and by waiters who looked like stoics. it is unusual, in my opinion, to walk into a restaurant and feel like you're being taken to the principal's office because of the stern and emotionless faces. The waiters were not friendly and did not take our orders in a timely fashion, nor did they explain the pre-fix system on a very cryptic menu. all in all, it was really difficult to see noses turned up to us the whole time and we got out of there as fast as we could.

• Cons: management and service employees are terribly rude.
