Horrible thin crust pizza!
by gukya
I went here last night to meet up a friend I havn't seen in years. I've walked by this place several times and it looked like a fun place to check out. The waitress was so-so, the tables were so squeezed together you cant even get through. We never got a basket of bread throughout the entire meal. My friend ordered some fish dish which he liked but thought was too overpowered with tomatoes. I ordered one of their "famous" thin-crust pizza's....which was absolutely horrible.....and expensive too. If I'm paying 25 dollars for a pizza I at least expect it to taste good. To top it off, I asked them to pack the remainder of the pizza for me to take home and instead of wrapping it in foil, they folded the entire thing up and stuffed it in a little plastic container....I opened it to have for lunch and it was totally soggy and gross. Maybe some of the other dishes are better, but I think the entire menu is WAY overpriced. Save your money and go somewhere else!
- Pros: Can't think of any
- Cons: Very expensive, horrible thin crust pizza
Great Place!
by harlemhoney
I went there yesterday because they were one of he 2 Italian places featured on the upper west side for restaurant week. The hostess wasn't very friendly but that is about the only con. The waitress was great! My friend showed up 30mins after i had been seated and the waitress didnt seem to be up set. We ordered our food and it was really really good. *LEMON CHICKEN* We sat outside and it was a great evening. I will most def be going back again!!!!
- Pros: Waitress, Lemon Chicken
- Cons: Hostess was not the nicest
Delicious open-faced lasagna but VERY crowded and ridiculously over-priced
by newyorkspagal
My husband and I dined at Fiorello last Friday night. We had a 6pm reservation and when we arrived, the place was packed--unusual at that hour for New York. It was absolutely a pre-theater crowd--we're in our late 20s and we were the youngest people there by an average of 20 years. It felt strangely like a Carmine's or other Times Square tourist hangout--the priority was turning over the tables, and once she took our order, our waitress disappeared until we stopped her to ask for the check. It is extremely crowded--so much so that squeezing between our table and the next to use the ladies' room got me uncomfortably close to our neighbors. The food was so-so--I LOVED my open-faced lasagna but my husband wasn't crazy about his pizza. It was the thinnest-crust pizza I've ever seen, so not everyone's style. The food is also very expensive--the appetizer/antipasto bar sounds intriguing but for $18 I got 3 spears of asparagus, a tiny slice of quiche, and two slices of roasted peppers. Outrageous! Even the simple pasta dishes were in the $20s....So, I'm glad we went to cross it off our list but I doubt we'll be back.
not sure it's worth the price

The food is reasonably good (check out especially the appetizer bar), but the place is pretentious to the point of obnoxiousness. Yes, you do get to seat and watch people going to Lincoln Center, but the price you pay for it is pretty stiff. Better deals nearby.
Veal Scallapini Parmagiana is excellent. Shrimp and Scallop appetizer is fresh, prepared with a little bite
by emquad46
We had a 6:00pm reservation on a Sunday and were seated immediately. The service was superb. The Martini was well prepared and cold. I had the Shrimp and Scallop appetizer which was nicely presented, very fresh and had a slight bite. Just excellent. The Veal Scallopini Parmagiana entre' was fantastic. The coffee was robust and the Lemon tart a real treat especially with the fresh whipped cream. About $60 without tip.
- Pros: Fresh excellent well prepared dinners
- Cons: Tight eating spaces, very crowded, noisy. Corner table a plus!
One of the best before a Lincoln Center show
by dieselpr
This Italian restaurant/sidewalk-cafe is right accross from Lincoln Center and for that reason you can bet it will be packed on evenings before a show. However if you're lucky enough to grab a table you'll be treated to very good service and very good food at a very good location for a price that takes all of that into consideration. The ultrathin-crust pizza they serve here makes an excellent appetizer. Pavarotti reputedly has a table here and I wouldn't doubt it.
- Pros: Ultrathin-crust pizza, location, service
GREAT FOOD BAD MANAGEMENT!
by max_e_max_the_young_gun
I am quite upset. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants to eat at on the UWS untill a friend of mine showed me an article in the NY Times about the management taking a % of the waiters' Tips!!!! Still, I will probably go for a Brunch here or there. (it's Fantastic!) But I just don't feel the same about the restaurant after reading that article. Everyone has always been most hospitable. Service can be a bit slow when the restaurant fills up but the food and atmosphere is worth it. Try the Pizza!
- Pros: Great Food!
- Cons: Can be quite packed, managers steal waiter's tips
Will go back again

I would recommend this place because the food was great. It was pretty crowded but the waiter provided great service. I sat outside so I didn't get the dining experience inside...but I would definately recommend this to anyone that wants to eat good italian food. It was nice because outside there was a mix of people from corporate to more casual mix making it very nice and confortable. Will go back for sure!

I've been to Fiorellos several times and the seafood/vegetable bar is definitely the way to go. Go a little early for dinner and you'll usually find a spot at the bar. The service is excellent, waiters very nice, food is wonderful and there is usually great conversation to strike up with the stranger next to you. My sister and I went this weekend and although she is not easy to please gastronomically, she loved it too. Sitting in the dining room is more expensive and a totally different experience - not at all my preference.
BRUNCH!
by dbswimuk
This is one of my favorite brunch restaurants. The pizza, although pricey, is absolutely delicious! The UWS isn't necessarily my favorite place to dine, but this is definitely worthe the trip!
