i dont normally take the time to write reviews but Neo was just so phenomenal i had to post a comment. the sushi was very fresh and it's very apparent the fish were of top quality. every dish has its own unique sauce, rather than your typical soy sauce/wasabi combo - which i thought was a real nice touch. everything was seasoned to perfection: the flavors had an excellent balance of mild strength without overpowering the fish. bottom line: everything from the top-grade fish, the positively eclectic menu, the individual complementing sauces, all the way down to the flawless texture of the sushi were nothing short of amazing. amazing doesn't even do it justice. i highly recommend the Spicy Tuna Somen and the green tea tiramisu dessert.

Pros: great food great service

Cons: none

My wife and I live on the Upper West Side and decided to try Neo Sushi last Friday night, as we had walked by there many times but never eaten there. We absolutely LOVED this place. We both ordered the field greens salad, which was fresh and delicious, and I ordered a cod dish, which was amazing!! My wife ordered something called seafood dynamite, and she loved it. We also ordered soft shell crab tempura and it was the best we've ever had. The service was great here and so was the atmosphere. Neo Sushi seemed like an upscale japanese/sushi restaurant great for a date spot but it also seemed very family and kid friendly. I definitely recommend this place.

Pros: food, service

Cozy, modern and friendly services but the food didn't match up w/ the look of the restaurant. Expensive and small portion. Don't get the special rolls, $18 and you will only get 8 small pieces. We had 4 special rolls and end up w/ an empty stomach leaving the restaurant and the bill came out to be over $100. I definitely not recommend this place if you want a full stomach and not break your wallet

Pros: Good Service

Cons: Expensive and small portion..

Service and decor wasn't bad at all. Food presentation was great. Taste was just very average. Was disappointed that they have a menu that didn't have anything that you would expect a Japanese restaurant to have...All I wanted to order was a Sushi dinner, udon, or something simple that every Japanese restaurant should have, no, they didn't have that...it is almost like you walk into a Italian resturant asking for pasta and they tell you they don't serve that....anyhow, this is not the only reason I am giving just two stars, the food was way over priced. Rolls were small for the price they charged. I woudln't mind paying for it if they didn't explicitly stated on their menu that these are big rolls...the averge price for these rolls are $16-$19/roll...

My girlfriend and I were doing some shopping on the upperwest this weekend and got the urge for some sushi. We walked by this place and it was pretty packed inside so we decided to give it a try. WOW!! Probably the best sushi we ever had. We asked the server for her suggestions and everything she sent us was amazing.

Pros: great food

Cons: none

A true Upper West mainstay, Neo has proven itself to be not only a must try, but a must try again! I went with 2 friends for an early dinner and we decided on the omakase to see what the sushi chefs could whip up for us. We were not disappointed- from the buttery O-Toro to the Sweet "melt in your mouth" Uni flown in from Japan, every savory bite left us wanting more. RECOMMEND: Tuna Carpaccio Neo Style and anything in their Tofu Sauce

I have been living in downtown Manhattan for over 10 years and I will still travel all the way to the Upper West Side for this sushi! The quality is the freshest I've tasted. The style and preparation of the food lends itself to the pride and craftsmanship that real Japanese sushi chefs bring to their work. Presentation is delectable not to mention the exquisite sauces that cater to the taste buds. This is not your average sushi joint. If you're looking for quantity over quality, then Neo is not for you. However, if you enjoy high quality fish with a well versed staff readily at your service, then Neo is a must try.

I went to this wonderful sushi restaurant last night, everything was just amazing. The service was great. The stuffs were very nice and attentive. Most important of all, the sushi was delicious! And guess what, you even don't need soy sauce to eat them, since different sushis and rolls have different dressing on them or on the same plate. As my waiter said that soy sauce was actually their "biggest enemy" there. (^_^). I also tried couple of their kitchen dishes and they were all excellent, too. The baby shrimp tempura bite with spicy aioli sauce was just amazing. And the special Neo sauce for steaks was yummy too ( i never know that a Japanese restaurant can make so good steaks).I would definitely go there again, if I'm in the area and in the mood for sushi.

Neo is a very classic restaurant. They give you great service and also always have daily specials. This is a wonderfully place to dine at with your friends and family! I really love the creativity. They make me want to try all the items on their menu. Each sushi has a different topping on them. Not only are the food wonderfully made with great detail, their sushi rolls are the best I've ever tasted so far. The texture of their rice is just right. Even a simple avocado can make me have great appetite! I want to also recommend people to try the spicy tuna somen ! It's such a cool dish thats like with crispy noodles outside and inside wrapped with amazing spicy tuna. I haven't been to a restaurant that great before ! Really I love this place!

Pros: Two Thumbs Up ! Delicious
