Good Midtown value

Nothing fancy, but a great home base for Manhattan exploration. Small rooms, but very clean. Staff was friendly. We had no issues in our 4-day stay. Very good "value" as far as value goes in NYC! Location is the key. 1/2 block from Times Square, a few good restaurant/pubs on the block. Very close to the Subway system.

Poor customer service-small dirty, ill-equipted rooms!

Checked in Friday afternoon @ 2:45 and had major check-in issue with rate and rooms. Staff seemed to be gagged by management on options to fix. No hotel Manager in again until Monday..think its set up this way, so nothing could be addressed till then!!! They do not understand service here. You're just a number and so many people come into the city they don't need repeat business. Why try and make you welcome. Room was 10x12 with clean but VERY thin and well used bedspread and linen. Towels even thiner and only 2 in room ($300 room!!) Staff was distant and did not have command of English language and simply could not help with any issues.. A HUGE dissapointment in service and quality. Internet did not extend to 8th floor room with halways 3-4ft wide!! Contintal breakfast running empty 1hr after start. A terrible hotel and staff and atmosphere.

Judging by the two other people with major issuesin line in front of me at checkout, AVOID this place at all costs!!!

Disappointed and frozen in NY

My husband & I arrived late 3/16/06 & learned that the hotel would have no heat & no hot water for the entire night. We were given a space heater and an extra blanket, but not one dime was taken off the cost of our room. Our room had 2 large windows with freezing air leaking in around the AC in the window. We stayed for 3 nights because we couldn't find a room elsewhere. Not once in that time did the radiator ever turn on. We also couldn't get the internet access we were promised so my husand was unable to keep in touch with his office.

My family and I spent four nights at this hotel the week after Easter without knowing anything but what we'd read on this site. It was a very good choice and we would return again. The rooms are not large and most rooms only have one queen bed but it was clean and the staff was very helpful. This was my first trip to NYC and I really looked forward to just walking around so the location was fantastic. I found out that if you call the hotel direct you have a chance of getting a room with two twin beds or maybe a larger room than we had. No matter, it was a very good choice for our trip.

Good value for money

This is a good hotel for a reasonable price. The check-in was quick and staff were friendly. We asked for a quiet room and were told if we wanted a quiet room it would be small. It certainly was small, but as we were only 2 it was bearable. And it was quiet as long as you didnt switch on the air conditioning. Otherwise the room and bathroom were clean and the bed was comfortable. The lift was not fast, but we didnt find it a problem for 9th floor. The breakfast was o.k., but it was always busy in the tiny breakfast room. Location was great, if you want to stay near Times Square. It was also close to several subway stations, so getting around was easy. I recommend this hotel to first time visitors to New York.

Great Value

The hotel is 1/2 block from the center of Times Square, but the value you get is tremendous. The staff is courteous and helpful. Very good continental breakfast. I would highly recommend this hotel. Request a room near the back.

Best Value, Great Place!!

I'm so glad I read recommedations about the Comfort Inn Midtown on this site. Everyone was right...this is a GREAT place to stay. We were amazed by the location, 1/2 block off Times Square! The front desk and all the staff were polite and very helpful. The rooms are small, but because someone reccomended rooms that end in 1,2 or 3, we requested the same. That request made all the difference. We got a nice but small room. The room was clean, with TV/Cable, nice sheets, a small bathroom and a desk. The only problem with the room was the steam heat. No thermostat! We survived the heat in the room by turning on the window A/C unit. The Inn sent someone up to fix the heat (quick response), but to no avail. We paid $89 a week night and $119 on the weekend...Great price! We WILL come back again!

Great NYC Value Hotel

Great value hotel in a great location. Half a block away from Times Square area. Rooms were small but clean. Our air conditioner broke down on Monday morning and the repair man fixed it right away. Great service from all hotel staff. One tip: Don't take their recommendation on ground transportation back to the airport. Taking a cab is cheaper.

Great Value!

We stayed at this hotel before the New Year Eve. It is at a great location, walking distance to Times Squre, Radio City and Fifth Ave. The room was very clean. Staff was friendly. We even got free continental breakfast. It was a great value. We would come back there again.
