Superb food, great service, excellent price.

Booked Basilica for 6 of us for an early New Year's Eve dinner based on many positive reviews. They had a prixe fixe menu which was an absolute bargain at $29 (which included a bottle of wine between 2 people if both ordered from that menu). Host was funny and met all our needs. The food was delicious and the wine was very good. Overall, beyond excellent value for money. Will definitely be going again.
- Pros: Great food, service and price. Cosy and local - not inundated with tourists.
- Cons: None.
A cute , amazing place to Go.

Small, but amazing. Great for pre-theater. Tasty food, service is fast and pleasant. Gratious host...was very attenting to our needs. Prices were recession proof prices. Good amount of food with fantastic taste. Got out of the restaurant very satisfied. You should go...a must try.
- Pros: Great food
- Cons: small

Popular with theater-goers, this restaurant serves Italian-American fare like gnocchi alla vodka and sausage and veal entrees.
Italian Paradise
by ladybug04
Been going to this little Italian bistro for 10 years now. Have never had a bad experience. The food is great, it's romantic, and intimate and the staff is always friendly. The prices are excellent and it's off the beaten path and often tourist-free. I have also seen many television and film personalities dining here over the years.
You sometimes may have to wait for a table if there is more than 2 of you...but if you can wait, it's definitely worth it.
Favorite dishes: Chicken Basilica, Gnocchi specials, Penne Vodka, Tiramisu
- Pros: Food
- Cons: Sometimes you have to wait, no reservations
Cozy and Delicious

After going to the owner's new Greek restaurant on the Upper East Side, Restina, we decided to try Basilica. It is an adorable little neighborhood Italian restaurant. I wish I had known about it sooner. The pasta, wine, and cappucino were all perfect. Everyone around us was having a great time and enjoying their food very much. It's the perfect place for a date with a very New York atmosphere. I loved the brick wall and the coziness of the small space.
Delicious pastas

Very small place but delicious food, generous portions and very reasonably priced. I highly recommend. Only downside is that because it is so small, the tables are very close to each other.
- Pros: Taste, portions, prices
- Cons: Cramped

.Tiny but superlative great food that is underpriced for the value and even better service. The staff is very knowledgeable and easygoing, food is made to order and the pastas are always fresh. Overall a real gem in the theater district

Good Italian in midtown
by aji
Very reliable italian eatery in the theater district. This cozy little place is no red sauce joint, and the staff is always friendly and attentive. Good place for dinner before or after a show, or on a date.
