Not the worst place I've been but this site made me excited to try it out. The irish grill (menu item) sounded like the best of ireland but the cook left in the oven a bit too long. The sausages and onions more than made up for it and I left full. The bar tab was a bit more than I expected and the live music I was anticipating with my meal did not start till 10:30. Suppose a college age group would fit right in but the stale smell and broken furnature made date night a bit rough.
- Pros: Irish feel, unique, value
- Cons: overpromised and underdelivered

Located in the middle of Time Square. Very crowded and a long wait to be seated. Many interesting people from all over the world come through this place. Food OK. Not for me.

I have traveled the world and sampled my fair share of some of the finest bars, pubs, clubs, cantinas, etc the world has to offer. This is, hands down, one of the top 3 I have ever been to. From relatively unknown bands delivering world class music, to the cheerful staff ready to serve to you your favorite elixir, you will no doubt enjoy an evening amongst a lively crowd any night of the week. Every time my plane touches down in Ney York I count the seconds until the first Guinness or Jamison hits my lips in my favorite watering hole this side of the pond. A must see if you are in the area and you enjoy a drink coupled with some good tunes and good times. Make sure you designate a driver though, because you shouldn't plan to leave here in any condition to operate ANYTHING.
- Pros: Everything
- Cons: Its about 1600 miles from where I live
great service

I have been going to O'flaherty's for atleast 15 years now, and while i don't go weekly like I used to. (sad to say I moved or maybe I have gotten older) but when ever I am in town I head straight to the West side! I have even partied with Liam Neeson, Stephen Rhea on St Patrick's there, i have always been treated like family by the staff and owner!
When I have friends coming into town and they ask me "where should we go..I always say you either have to start, or end your night at O'flahertys !. Where else can you get darts, a pool table, 2 fireplaces (that work) and an outside garden, great scotch, fantastic Guinness.. a nice staff, fantastic owner..
And just so you know I have not been asked to write this, and I am sure I will get a call from the owner if he ever reads this.. While I haven't been to Oflahertys in about 6 months.. guess where I am going right now on this rainy NYC night!
Tadhg..."Bobay Sapphire gin and tonic please.. the way I like it!
Oh one last thing before I forget, I worked for a company on 46th and 3rd Ave, and every Friday atleast 50 of us would walk across town to Oflaherty's to grab a pint, and the best part was ...we had a Connolly's pub right in our building!
- Pros: Fire places, pool table, music, location, owner workers
- Cons: small bathrooms

I used to like going to Flaherty's because there is always a good band playing on the stage. But in the middle of the night it starts to get full with drunk people. The place is always full of blokes who are just waiting to have a punchup or giving you evil stares. Even though it's been done up it's lost its character and is now full of yobos. Stay away if you want a good night.

This is what a bar should be, welcoming-cold beer-lots of people-and friendly! They have good specials all the time, and the beer is ice cold! A favorite haunt
- Pros: Cute girls, nice-friendly regulars, good specials
no customer service

My mom loves being Irish and loves anything Irish so we thought this place would be the perfect place for her Birthday. We were wrong, very disappointed, the waitress and bar tender were very rude. We decided the give our busy to someone else. All I can say "Big mistake"
Best Irish Bar around New York!

Not many places are well kept secrets in the theater district but this bar is one of them. My friend and I discovered it a few years ago and have been coming back ever since. The Honey lager and Seasonal Pumpkin ale have always been favorites. A great place to shoot pool, friendly game of darts or just kick back and have a few drinks with friends. Nelson the bartender is the man! Great cozy environment. Great happy hour bar or anytime for that matter and the selection of food in their kitchen is absolutely delicious. I plan on keeping O'Flaherty's Ale House as my favorite bar in NYC!
- Pros: Draft Beers, Atmosphere, Food, Service
- Cons: None
Authentic Irish bar brings a dose of cheer to midtown.

This spacious Theater District pub offers a central bar, two intimate seating areas with charming accents like a fireplace, couches and bookshelves, plus a large sunken poolroom in the back and a landscaped garden with tables outside. A sociable crowd gathers regularly to shoot darts, catch the game and get their drink on--the barkeepers oversee one of the best specialty beers menus in the neighborhood. It's as appropriate for a party as it is for quick pre- or post-show drinks.
