Great Atmosphere!

I am really surprised to hear that it is not there anymore. I have been there on many occasions when I visit NY. I have always had excellent service and excellent food. Yes, the prices were alittle high but I thought it was well worth it.

• Pros: Great food, great atmosphere and great service!
• Cons: They are gone.

This restaurant is gone. Kaput. No more. It looks like the space might be turned into another restaurant, but right now it is closed.

Worst, restaurant, EVER

I will keep this brief. The most economical entree on the flimsy menu I was handed by my Bruce Willis look-a-like waiter cost over $15. The portions were so small it would make even the most calorie conscience person frown. The atmosphere is nice if you like listening to a bass and piano player play jazzy tunes all night; (That was the nicest part about the whole experience by the way). The drinks were very strong, but still over priced and were not chilled properly. To sum it up, this is a nice place to take a girl if you want to impress her with the facade of where trendy, sophisticated folk like to dine. But this place is a total gyp and is not worth it.

Pros:

Free coat check

nice dining music

you never have to ask for a water refill because the waiters are on it

Mashed potatos are delicious

Cons:

Prices were outrageous

Portions were very small

food was not that tasty, expcet the mashed potatoes

waiters lurk around constantly and don't let you breathe

Don't waste your time or money.

• Pros: Mashed potatoes tastes good. Coat check is free
• Cons: Everything else that would make a restaurant a good experience

Insipid Food; Overpriced

Have walked by Jezebel's on many occasions and always wanted to visit due to the unique decor. Despite the other bad reviews, I decided to take a gamble...big mistake. While the service was not terrible, the food was horrible. For $22.95, the fried chicken (which consisted of three very small pieces) was soggy and did not taste very appetizing (Popeye's, as bad as it is, is far superior at a fraction of the price). The side order of white rice, for which we paid an additional $4.00 was undercooked and chewy. The other meal we ordered, the honey glazed ribs, was also unappetizing and consisted of four small pieces of which two barely had any meat (all this for $22.95). The mashed potatoes, for which we spent an additional $4.00 tasted as thouigh they came straight from a box (in fact, I'm certain that they did).

• Pros: Beautiful decor, good location
• Cons: Bad, overpriced food

Jezebel not so great!

The food was fairly decent, however the service was deplorable. The attitude of the hostess (owner) left a bad taste in my mouth. The decor was somewhat overwhelming and the seating arrangements were not well thought out.

Wonderful place

I know that some have had mixed reviews but I recently went with a group of 7 individuals, were seated promptly, food was outstanding! service was GRAND! I definitely would recommend!

Prior to that I went with a friend of mine a few years back and the food and service was still GREAT

Do not go here!

The service was horrendous. Out of 6 people, 2 of us had our orders completely wrong and our waiter never came back to ask us how we were doing. The portions were ridiculously small and the food was not that great. The worst part of the night was the hostess who seemed so bitter and unpleasant. And when we thought the night could not get any worse, we had to contend with the hostess and waiter continually harrassing us about their tip. We even caught the hostess talking about us and making fun of our ethnicity. We had such a horrible time.

Think Sylvia's Sexier, Hotter sister

The decor is gorgeous. Our waitress--Christina--was soo nice, even the coat check lady was great.

Desserts were fabulous, the collard greens...I thought I wanted to die. The salomon is okay and the honey fried chicken is mouth-watering (I am from the south, and this was the really thing.)

And the tall, lean guy hanging around? Yes, you recognize from the Five HeartBeats (He is the owner's son)

Good but not great

We were a party of 12. Some liked their entrees, others didn't. All agreed the sides were spicy. I like that! Cannot beat the ambience and decor. Fabulous! Drinks were good too. I agree that the presentation could have been better. Did not get to dessert as it took a while to get the server's attention and we had a show to get to. Very busy place. I would recommend and would go back. Just don't expect to be blown away by food.
