From start to finish Flatrate Mover's did unprofessional and shoddy work. First the movers improperly packed my furniture, leading to damage to several items. Second, the movers were so incompetent that they left 3 holes in the walls in my apartment building and a huge hole in the molding on my staircase. Third, they were in a rush both at pick up and drop off and were extremely rude. Finally, they lowballed by damages claim estimate. I would highly recommend to anyone moving not using this moving company.

I've moved within Manhattan a few times before and each time was a nightmare: the $500 estimate was $1500 by the end of the move, the movers were intimidating thugs... you just couldn't win, so the act of moving because something to be "dealt with" vs. "done." FlatRate has changed that completely. They come to your place in advance, they give you a written figure, and that's all that you pay. None of this "we charged you $100 extra to wrap your TV in a blanket" stuff -- it's all included. Their advance person was super-friendly and professional, and the moving guys were SO nice and very careful, even with things that didn't seem delicate or important. So moving day, which we dreaded, turned out to be quick and seamless. Honestly, this is the ONLY service I will EVER use for moving in the future, because they're legit. I think that's what I like: in a business full of scammers, they're the legit ones.

Pros: Honest, legit, professional, you pay exactly what the estimate says you'll pay, they take credit cards

This is my first time using FLATRATE MOVING company and it will be the last due to: Poor timing. Poor schedulling. Lack of responsability. I called the company to move from Miami to New York. They did arrive on time to my house for pick up, but they failed tho do delivered on time. After being on the phone for several hours and being transfer from one employee to another I received a lame excuse for the delay. I'm sorry FlatRater but I will never use your service againg

This is our second move with Flat Rate and it won't be our last (storage!). I couldn't be more satisfied. The sales/customer service staff are exceptional. The movers were efficient, pleasant, and careful. Flat Rate is reliable and competent. I would not consider another moving company! Our salesperson, Laura, was thorough and complete. She was also available when we had questions prior to the move. The day of the move, Hassan and his crew were absolutely remarkable. They were efficient, polite, tidy, and a real pleasure to work with. I would not hesitate to recommend this group of movers and would use them again myself if we have a need to move. Congratulations to all of them for debunking the moving myths in New York City!!!!

I have used Flat Rate several times before. My experience has always been a positive one so far. This time, Mother Nature did not quite cooperate… High winds and rain made the move so much more difficult! I am happy to say that once again flat rate impressed me with their level of professionalism-the crew worked very hard to make it quick, efficient and painless. The quality control rep called during the move to check on us and it was greatly appreciated and very reassuring. Thank you, Flat Rate for yet another fantastic moving experience. I strongly recommend using flat rate moving- they are the best!

Flaterate has changed my view about "movers." It seemed like a dream. One minute I was in one apartment, another I was in the other. But to save up on the boxes and supplies, i decided to purchase them from MovingBoxNewYork dot com instead which saves me a lot of money.

Pros: excellent customer service

Cons: expensive packing materials and boxes

I can't be happier with Flat Rate's performance. The crew was AMAZING!!! They treated my things as if they were their own. Nothing was damaged and they set up my bed in literally a couple of minutes! AMAZING!!!! I was moving to a 4th floor walk up and I never heard a gripe or groan from anyone on the crew! AND they were working in a great pace!!! This move could not have gone any better! I will use flat rate for all my moves!!!

Like so many New Yorkers I have moved several times and always dreaded truck rentals and the endless hours devoted to packing and lugging my own things from place to place. I actually delayed a great opportunity to move from Brooklyn to Manhattan because it was cold outside, the streets were narrow in the city and I was extremely busy at work. That’s where FlatRate and my representative Jason came to the rescue. FlatRate was very flexible with updates to my inventory and they confirmed every step of the process with me. I was fully informed of the details, cost and timing of my move within minutes after my first phone call. The movers were very pleasant and respectful of my items as they carefully handled my furniture, stereo and computer. I’ve told my friends, family and coworkers about FlatRate because I was surprisingly amazed that the entire move took one hour – from the moment they arrived at my old apartment to when they unpacked everything at the new place! My life didn’t miss a beat and because I was already unpacked and ready to go at the new place before mid-afternoon. Many people give their recommendations and it can be difficult to trust a complete stranger with your most precious belongings. I would tell anyone who is considering a moving company to call around for quotes. They will quickly understand why the professionalism, honesty and customer service from FlatRate can’t be found anywhere else!

The service I received from all Flatrate associates was excellent. Everyone took the time to answer my questions and were all very attentive to my needs. My moving day went incredibly smoothly. The crew arrived at my apartment even before I got there... They moved very quickly, efficiently and were all very careful with my belongings. At the end of the day, I got a call from the company’s quality control rep to see if everything had gone well. That's what I call great customer service. Thanks Flatrate for helping to make my moving a lot less stressful and I truly appreciate it!

Pros: Professional, Efficient, Friendly, Reassuring

Cons: NADA!

I just moved yesterday (during the first storm of the season) and FlatRate came through! They arrived at 9:30am...packed me up...unloaded me in my new place (putting everything where it belonged)...and, they were all done by 2:30pm. I hired them for my office move (about 2 years ago) and would recommend them for commercial and residential moves. The whole team was terrific. Before moving day, they worked with me along the way...changing dates of my move...changing items on my packing list...supplying the Certifcate of Insurance. Jason was a pleasure to work with! And...the price they quote is the price you pay!

Pros: Great customer service!

Cons: Absolutely none.
