Terrible NEVER GOING BACK
by arrr
I had a very bad experience here tonight with an incredibly rude server who was almost yelling at me when I asked why the food was taking an hour to come out in a restaurant with 10 tables that was half full! She not only was not apologetic, but also never refilled the water and we were constantly asking, and then she tried ushering us out of the restaurant at 10pm because they were closing - even though it was their fault we waited an excessive amount of time for the food to arrive! The waiters were already changing clothes and taking table cloths off the tables while we were finishing our meal. They were even putting chairs on tables - this is UNACCEPTABLE when you are paying 25.00 per Entree! The bathroom is disgusting and im sure the kitchen is too. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE. You can get better food with decent service elsewhere!
- Pros: food OKAY
- Cons: THE WORST RUDE SERVICE, DIRTY
AVOID AT ALL COST!!!!!!!!

This restaurant was a disaster from the minute we walked in and found the hostess on her cellphone carrying a really loud conversation while we waited for her to finished. We we finally got to our table the other waiter had his kid playing video game on a table next to us, loud! The place has this eastern european/melancholic feeling far from the northern french style as the name suggests. Our waiter was rude and talked to my fiancee as if she was a 6 year old about to get grounded for asking for a better table. The food was horrible. I ordered Pasta with mozzarella (how can you screw that up?) and it was uneatable. My fiances' salad was served with an old/canned/microwaved piece of gray tuna. And to top it off we found a fly in her food, when we told the waiter he just said, "Oh, ok." and removed the plates from our table without apologizing or acknowledging what just happened. And yes, he charged us in full. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE! AVOID AT ALL COST
- Pros: Cant think of one
- Cons: Rude staff, unreasonable prices, horrible food, depressing ambiance

A Carnegie Hill French delight for locals craving more than just a burger.
Great French Cooking

I haven't been to France in some time, but this certainly brings back some memories. If you go you will not be sorry. I love everything here!

The WORST SERVICE in Manhattan
by michelleny
The waiter at Bistro du Nord was extremely rude to us when we visited the restaurant on Sunday afternoon. Also, I witnessed that the waiter was yelling at the customers! I could not believe that the cozy-looking restaurant had the WORST service among all restaurants in Manhattan. If you want to be treated nicely in a restaurant, I would recommend NEVER visiting Bistro du Nord.
- Pros: Cozy Look
- Cons: Service
Never again

I had my worst experience for a brunch. Me and my fiancee had been waiting for 20 minutes in the entrance, and we a table eventually became free, the waiter did let sit a couple of people who had just got in, even after my fiancee argued with him and the couple that this was totally unfair. So if you want to eat in a place where customers are not respected, and the food is just average... I am from France and I feel that this place is a shame for my country...
- Cons: Service, Service, Service
main courses mediocre
by foodie5
Olives along with the bread are "complimentary". The bread was rock hard, but the olive assortment is nice.
The salads were pretty good, but the main courses (salmon, skate, chicken) were pretty mediocre, although the portions were good.
The berry dessert was pretty good.
We would not go here again based on the food quality to price ratio.
- Pros: good portions
- Cons: mediocre main courses, high price
Bordeaux Fantasy

I had the most exquisite three hour long meal. Every dish was wonderful. The wine was served at the percect temperature and complimented the authentic French cuisine. The flourless chococlate cake was the perfect ending to the meal.
- Pros: Uncrowded
- Cons: Pricey
Great Food, Service Needs Improvement
by kingofnyc79
I could come here once a week just for the pate and crepes. Great French food. The only thing that was lacking was the service, maybe the waiters were all new when I was there this past weekend, but they kept forgetting to bring us important things (napkins, forks, the check) and took a little too long once reminded. But I still recommend a visit.
- Pros: Food, Nice Neighborhood
- Cons: Service, Loud
