Expensive

I went there after hearing how great it was. Wow. The bread was stale, the salad was overpriced and empty. The pasta was well cooked, didn't have enough sauce though or flavor. I though it was expensive and I prefer Bella Via just blocks away by far.
Go straight to the Best: The Water's Edge

I recently had my wedding (ceremony and reception) at The Water's Edge. From the very first meeting, I was impressed. The coordinator, Kathy, is phenomenal. The staff is professional, efficient, and very friendly.
The wonderful view of manhattan is an added bonus!!
All of our guests have nothing but compliments regarding our event that evening. All we can say in response is to thank The Water's Edge staff: from those directly involved to those behind the scenes.
Our wedding was flawless, rememberable and lots of fun!!!
A special thank you to Kathy, Mildred, Jason, Scott and Paul. You were all wonderful and we are eternally grateful for your assistance in making our special evening spectacular!!!!!!
A Gem - Come and see for Yourself

First, I eat out at least 4 times per week due to my schedules and at least take the family out once for dinner every weekend. Some of the reviews sound oddly malicious with an overtone of an agenda.
The restaurants view is an absolute dream. Very romantic and while some may find the place pricey, I can say that it is not. When you take into account all the wonderful elements going on at once you will appreciate the uniqueness and quality of the restaurant.
The wait staff was very nice but could be more diverse. The food was unique and serve in a very well timed manner (a lost art in most of NYC eateries now a days). The place is very pretty and not the easiest to get to if you don't know LIC - Come to bring someone you care for - I brought my wife, 3 year old and sister-in-law. They are still talking about the place.
For a Fabulous Wedding!

My daughter's wedding reception at Water's Edge received the highest compliments from our guests. Everyone raved about the atmosphere (elegant rooms and absolutely incomparable views) and the fabulous food!
Service was wonderful; everyone was cheerfully cooperative and helpful. Paul, the maitre d', was totally professional and always on top of things. Thank you everyone at Water's Edge.

AMAZING!!!!What a beautiful place....

We came here during restaurant week- I have read mixed reviews and all I have to say it is was delicious!!! We came over from Manhattan and are true foodies- so it often times hard to impress us. This was the best meal I have had in a while! The ambiance was beautiful, decor beautiful and the meal was delicious. We had the butternut squash soup, scallops, braised short ribs, and 2 amazing desserts. The service was fantastic...there were at least two waiters who came over the entire night. I highly reccommedn for the food and the views!

worst service ever in a NYC restaurant, thanksgiving feast was a disaster ,cold horderves , the butternut soup tasted like dish water, cold bread?, horrible salad 3 pieces of lettice on a plate.lampchops roar ! turkey dry and tasteless. which they removed 4 times. 10 people in suits hovered around, not 1 new what they were doing. not 1 server came over to ask us how anything was. our waitress was so high she was removed. so unorganized then 2 waitresses were arguing with each other right behind us ..IT WAS A DISASTER . food "3" service "1" we will never be back ..
Happy To See This Lovely Place Back On Track!

We've been enjoying this restaurant for many years. After it was sold a couple of years ago things got quite rough for a while. The view and aura of the place is so special, however, that my wife and I decided to give it another try for our anniversary last week. What a happy surprise! The food was terrific! We started out with the "Fanny Bay" Oysters with Jalapeno Mignonette, they were so delicious we ordered a second round! I had the Porcini Crusted Halibut with truffle emulsion & smoked eggplant "caviar"...perfectly cooked and a great marriage of flavors! My wife had the duck breast...again delicious and perfectly cooked. We mentioned to the waiter how much we enjoyed everything and he told the chef, who then came out to say hello. Turns out Jeffery Slade has cooked in France and for the likes of Jean George and Daniel, it shows in what he sends out of the kitchen!! Everyone was very nice, the service was great, the food was great, nice selection of wines by the glass, and the view was, as it always was, spectacular! Hey this place ain't cheap, but it's special, and you leave with a glow!
- Pros: Unparalleled NYC & Water Vista, Fab Food!
