This shop has the best selection of slings anywhere. The girl helped me pick out which one was best for me, and since my baby was born in June I got a really light solarveil pouch sling. They have sling classes at their other shop, and I found it really helpful to get one on one help. It is now July, and I cannot imagine carrying my baby any other way! I also got my nursing bras there (love the bravado bodysilk!) and other essentials, but mostly, I will remember this store for converting me into a sling user. It does make life easier! Thank you Boing Boing!

I have to buy lots of presents for my freinds kids, and this place always has something cool. Their prices are much better than area (I wanted to return the onesie I got after I saw they had it for $5 less@!) It's an easy place to shop, no hassles, lots of cool new parent books. Get the "Baby's 1st tattoo" book, it's always a blast at baby showers.

Pros: cool kids stuff, not pretentious. cheap

I wanted to write about their new store, but it wasn't listed. Boing is an awesome place to visit, the owner is so helpful with your nursing problems. They have a "nursing sanctuary" where you can sit in the beautiful back room and take your time with your baby. I love their relaxed atmosphere, and would highly recommend it to any new parent. They have everything you need, lots of carriers to try on, and are as patient as can be.

Pros: The most slings anywhere, patient staff, nursing room,

Boing! as much fun as it's original - Boing Boing on Union St. I was introduced to the first one, when I needed a present for my first grandchild, and wanted to keep up with the times. Hip is one word for both Boing Boing, and Boing, but it is more than that. It is also practical, organic, handmade and LOCAL, especially the new store. I personally find it to be an energy booster, which is surely needed, no matter what your generation, when interacting with newborns. As for gifts, there is an endless supply of creative and yet practical ideas, and that saves the time of shopping around, even if you are not so lucky as to find the owner, Karen, around to help you out. If you are in the neighborhood of Park Slope you are indeed fortunate. But then one would assume that the owner of Boing Boing would have figured out what Brooklyn neighborhood is the newest, hippest neighborhood in Brooklyn. I'd expect nothing less.

I thought after my second child I wouldn't have to go back to Boing Boing. I"m there every week! They always have what I'm looking for; like the NoseFrida, which my doula recommended. (I'll review this product later) Their prices are great, but you can also find really beautiful nursing gowns there if you want to spend more. I still have my maya sling from my first child, and the same woman who helped me out 2 years ago was still working there! They're so helpful with those who can't figure out the gazillions of slings on their own. I'm always amazed at their patience. IT would be great if they had the sling lady there every day. It's a warm, loving, and welcoming environment, and I am happy they are still around.

Pros: friendly, helpful, welcoming place to nurse your baby

Cons: could use more staff

I read about this store on a Brooklyn blog, and couldn't disagree more with the negative review below. I've gone in there with a list a mile long and the salespeople were patient and helpful. They had an excellent array of slings. I had heard great things from other parents in the neighborhood, and am happy to report they were right.

Pros: Friendly staff, great selection

It's bizarre that anyone would complain that bitterly about Boing Boing (see below); I think the writer is a little 'off' myself. I find the staff there extremely helpful, not to mention what a relief it is to have a well edited set of items to buy as a new parent: maternity wear, nursing bras, pumps, feeding and bathing supplies, toys, you name it. They provide an excellent service to expectant parents, too, with the sign-up sheets for new parent groups; they are organized geographically, by category (single parents, same-sex parents, etc.), and joining a group is such a big help when you have a new child and have no idea what to do! I highly recommend that new parents in this area of Brooklyn come in to Boing Boing and see what they have to offer.

I called to see what time they were closing, and we got there ten minutes before, cold march day three month old in tow, to exchange something. The lady at the counter told us they were closed and that we could not come in door was locked. I was really ticked off but my wife didn't want me to make a scene since i have a tendency to sob and pull my hair out at the slightest provocation. So we left, but i have always harbored a resentment for the people of that locale ever since. They are the epitome of park slope stroller nazis. Uber-Mommies, everybody else is doing it wrong-i know how to raise your child better types. Blahh! Otherwise if u can stomach the tarts that work there their products are alright, no plastic, lead paint stuff. . . And the gag and straps apparatus they have in the back is titillating, nothing like a bare-bum whipping to get me over it!

Pros: good products

Cons: wretched people selling them

I am so glad this store is still here--and they recently started carrying wool diapers again! It seems that whatever I need; they have it! I bought my pump there, and then got spare parts for my friend. I got my beautiful belabumbum lace nursing bra there, as well as some glamourmom tops, organic nursing pads, and tons of other stuff. Let me just add, that even though I shop there as a mom, I would recommend this store for anyone who wants to buy a gift for a new mom! Just get them gift certificate--because nursing bras are soooo essential--and their selection is amazing. I love this place!

Pros: Low pressure sales, wide selection of goods, great pump prices

Cons: they could use more staff sometimes to help with the slings

This is truly a great store for new parents. I just had my first child a few months ago and have been able to buy everything from my nursing bra to baby clothes here. The salespeople are really helpful and are always able to show me what I'm looking for. The selection is really good too. Makes it much easier to be able to shop for everything in one place rather than go to several different stores to look for what I need. My sister-in-law has two babies and recommended Boing Boing to me and I'm so glad she did. Every new mom should know about this store!

Pros: selection, helpful salespeople
