Mike knows his stuff, but whether or not he gives you the right information depends on if he likes you or not. He does ask a lot of personal questions, so personal to the point of having to ask him to please stop asking about my love life and how satisfying my husband is in bed. Coming from a rather nice neighborhood in Bay Ridge, he knew I lived in a nice house and assumed I rolled around in my money all day. Far from the case and thought he could take advantage of it. I spent over $500 on just a few lessons. And did I get my license? Yes, but only because I switched teachers RIGHT before taking my road test. He tries to be nice, but remember he’s a businessman and that’s part of his plan. If you do decide to still take lessons from him, be aware of any agreements. He gave me zero advice for the road test, zero advice about general rules of the road, and zero confidence for taking my road test. My advice, is NOT to take him. With so many better driving schools that won’t try to rip you off, it’d be wrong to choose Mike.

Pros: car was in good condition

Cons: doesn't give good directions, asks too many personal questions, doesn't prepare for road test

How could someone teach you how to drive if they are over 80 years old and barely see anything. Mike is the worst driver out there. When he was driving, we almost got into an accident. If your life is valuable to you, do not call this guy.

Mike is probably a great teacher, Mike may even be very patient. But he spends more time trying to find out how much money you make to drag out the process. He asks about the size of your home, if you own or rent, if your job pays well. Then he uses you as a chaffeur to drop off and pick up other students and not show the technical "need-to- know"s for the actually test. Also, I had the ask him to stop touching me gratuitously.

I met Mike a few week ago and explained him I had only a limited amount of time to take lessons and the test. Mike was able and willing to work out an intense but excellent schedule with me. In addition, Mike was able to ease my worries and teach me all I needed to know not only to pass the test but also to become a safe driver. Today I got my driver's license!!!! Thanks Mike.

Mike is a great teacher. I highly recommend him as a driving instructor. He is very patient. He also devotes all his experienced and knowledge to his students. Sometimes I was in a car with different people he was teaching at the time and I could see his dedication and honest approach to his students. I can say I was very lucky to have him as a driving instructor. I passed my road test . Thanks to him I am driving with confidence.

Mike is a great instructor. I would advise everybody to take 2 lessons at a time, because 45 minutes pass really quickly so 2 lessons gives Mike enough time to teach you the tips you need to pass the road test. I took two double lessons and one single 45 minute lessons the week of the test. On the day of the test, i asked him to give me a lesson before the test. So i drove from Midwood to Redhook and on the way i parked and made broken u turns. I passed the test on the first try.

I came to this website looking for a good driver and I decided to give Mike a try. I must say I regret it badly. I have shown him utmost respect and trusted him to be fair as an old man. He quickly deceived me. He knows how to fool his students. I’m a quick learner and after 3 days, I was already driving all by myself to the point that he would just seat there telling joke about life. He would pick a student up while one is in the back seat. He would make you drop that student home and drive with you a little, then go pickup another student during your 45 minutes. That new student will have to drive you home, then spend 15 minute lesson, and then go pickup a new student. You never really have a full 45 minutes to yourself. He would ask you a lot of questions about yourself to get to know you. If he knows you make good money, he would try to encourage you to take lesson at least 5 times a week driving around in quiet area and never show you the skills to pass the test. He does not take brake; he relies on your 45 minutes to pickup other student and even uses time out of your 45minutes to go to his office. He knows what to do to get you pass the test, but he would rather keep on taking your money. If he likes you and knows you don’t have money, he would show you exactly what you need for the test and you get your license.

I learned to drive with Mike last winter and passed on my first try. Then, on a recent Saturday morning I went to start my car and it was dead. I was stuck, so I called Mike for advice and in minutes he was there to give me a jump, tell me what was probably wrong and recommend two reputable mechanics nearby to check my battery. He went out of his way to help me out. Thanks Mike!

Mike is a very experienced instructor. He makes you feel very comfortable behind the wheel. I passed the road test on my first attempt thanks to him.
