the absolute worst

The drivers are CRAZY, not in the usual ny cab sort of way, but in the drunk/drugged criminally insane way, wouldn't get in a car with them ever.

why are they still in business?????

Iffy.

Eh, this place is a pretty generic car service, but it's pretty chancy. The drivers are mainly surly old born-and-raised types, but it kind of adds to it's charm in a way. Prices have gone up, which is to be expected since gas has gone up, but I feel like they haven't gone up proportionally, and Four Ones is just charging a whole lot more now. Eh, I don't know, at thirty-four bucks from JFK to my apartment, I'll just take the subway.

• Pros: Surly drivers, efficient driving, not a yellow cab.
• Cons: Surly drivers, pretty expensive.

Do not recommend

I called Four One's on a Sunday evening, and spoke with a rude dispatcher who kept cutting me off while I was requesting service. He told me "gimme 15 minutes"

15 minutes passed, then 20, then 30. We found an alternate way to get home. It's possible they came after we left but not likely.

I will not use their company again.

You lost a long-time customer

I was a long-time customer with Four Ones, but will never be doing business with this Car Service again. For the past two years, the service has become unreliable and surly. However, as a loyal customer, I was willing to give the guys a break when things went wrong. An incident with an obnoxious individual who probably has no business answering phones has changed that. I called Four Ones Thursday afternoon - May 1st - at 4:50 pm to have a car pick me up at a local store. I was standing outside of the store when I called. After several phone calls and a 40 minute wait, I was told that the driver was outside, waited for me for 10 minutes, then left. This never happened. I was outside in the cold and drizzle waiting patiently and no car ever showed up. By the fifth phone call, I was extremely upset and when I expressed my anger, the person answering the phone simply hung up on me. I am so glad that Four Ones is doing such a robust business during a recession that you folks can afford to treat loyal customers this way. After 25 years, I do not need someone being not only incompetent, but also rude to me. You lost this customer and quite frankly, I will absolutely never recommend you to any of the many people who travel to my house via taxi. Good luck, you will need it with your ridiculous service and attitude.
